     Ocie Gay Graham Ocie Gay Graham Conner, 99, of Check, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Judith and Hugh Howard, Macle and Gerlene Conner, Glenna and James Vest, and Edwin (Eddie) W. Conner; four granddaughters and husbands, Teresa and Jimmy Bowman, Sherry and Wayland Bond, Rhonda and Freddie Conner, and Missy and Brad Mullins; two grandsons and wife, Rodney and Sandra Vest, Mark Howard; seven great-grandchildren. Interment will follow at the Wilson Cemetery.⁸ She was buried at Wilson Cemetery, Daniel's Run Road (Rt. 661), Locust Grove, Floyd Co., Virginia.^8,4 She was born on March 28, 1915 at Elliston, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^9,4,7 She married Alvin Edwin Conner, son of Andrew Louis/Lewis Conner and Almeda Elmira "Alma" Vest, on February 22, 1936 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^2,9,10,4 As of February 22, 1936,her married name was Conner.      Melvin Gary Mullins Melvin Gary Mullins, age 80 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born December 3, 1943 a son of the late Gary and Mary Poff Mullins. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jason Mullins. Surviving are a daughter, Joleigh Medley; several grandchildren; his nieces, Pam West (Tommy), Tiffany O’Neill (Todd) and nephew, Gary Shively; great-nieces and nephews, Aaron West, Hunter West, Victoria O’Neil, Hannah and Sarah Shively along with many wonderful close friends. Melvin was loved and cherished by his girls, Marsha Ann Vest, Jessica Ann Link, Hope Nichole Howard, Emory Ann Clark and Avery Joe Link. He was a huge fan of NASCAR. A graveside service will be held at Story Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.³ He was buried at Story Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin Co., Virginia.³ He was born on December 3, 1943 at Guilford Co., North Carolina.^1,3,4,6 He married Nancy Mary Love on November 11, 1967 at Chester, Chester Co., South Carolina.⁴ Melvin Gary Mullins and Nancy Mary Love were divorced on September 11, 1980 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁴ Melvin Gary Mullins died on April 28, 2024 at Virginia at age 80.³

Survivors include: three sons, Eldridge of Rt. 1, Fayetteville, Hote of Rt. 2 Fayetteville, and Kenneth of Lansing; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Creger of Charleston, Mrs. R. R. Dooley of Fayetteville and Mrs. W. M. Comer of Dobson, N.C; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. on October 15, 1957.⁹

     Clarence Ezra Light was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park (also known as Mountain View Burial Park), 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.¹ He was born on April 11, 1915.² He married Ruby Mae Woods circa 1948.^1,3 Clarence Ezra Light died on June 19, 2011 at Virginia at age 96.¹ He Clarence Ezra Light, 96, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011. He was retired from Mennell Milling Company and was a long time member of Poages Mill Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Ruby Woods Light; his children, Richard and Ruby Light of Albuquerque, N.M., Claralyn Holland of Cincinnati, Ohio, Judy and Douglas Pardue of Charleston, S.C., Melody Hurt of Roanoke, Va., Edward Light of Salem, Va., Cherrie and Barry Holland of Roanoke, Va; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rachel Light Mills of Salem, Va., and Christine Light Grisso of Roanoke, Va; and many loved nieces and nephews. Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Avenue at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011. The Rev. E.B. Shoemaker and the Rev. Horace Light will officiate. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park in Boones Mill. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Poages Mill Church of the Brethren, 6550 Bent Mountain Road, S.W., Roanoke, Va., 24018. She was a member of Poages Mill Church of the Brethren, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Ruby was a proud mother and loved her family very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Light; son, Richard Light; three brothers; and one sister. Ruby is survived by her children, Claralyn Holland, Judy Pardue (Doug), Melody Hurt, Edward Light, and Cherrie Holland (Barry), 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boones Mill. on October 20, 2020.²
