     Christine Lorine Lawrence was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^3,9 She was born on October 31, 1927 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.³ As of October 4, 1946,her married name was Journell.⁵ She married Robert Mason Journell Jr. on October 4, 1946 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,3,5 Christine Lorine Lawrence died on April 18, 2015 at Virginia at age 87.³ She Christine L. Journell, 87, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015. She was born on October 31, 1927 in Salem to the late Agee F. and Ida R. Lawrence. Ms. Journell was retired with 32 years of faithful service to G.E. She was an active and faithful member of Community Church in Salem, and when it came to her cooking, there was just no one better in the eyes of her family. Cake baking was certainly her specialty! Above all, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert Mason Journell; and sons, Sparky Journell and Ted Journell. Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her daughter, Catherine E. (Kitty) Journell; grandchildren, Mason Hall and wife, Tina, Judd Hall and wife, JoAnn, Scott Journell, Travis Journell, Jessica Journell and Amy Isley and husband, Miller. Numerous great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside service will be conducted at Sherwood Memorial Park. on April 20, 2015.³

     Roxie Adeline Palmer was buried at Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery, Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ She was born on November 18, 1946 at Elliston, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,3,4 She married Hiawatha Wayne Eanes, son of James Robert Eanes and Eulala Victoria "Lala" Clower, on July 11, 1964 at Lafayette, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of July 11, 1964,her married name was Eanes.² Roxie Adeline Palmer died on March 12, 2016 at age 69.⁴

     Elizabeth Gwinn Whitlock was born on September 20, 1930 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^2,3 She married James Wade Eanes, son of James Robert Eanes and Eulala Victoria "Lala" Clower, on April 26, 1952 at Floyd, Floyd Co., Virginia.^4,5,1,2 As of April 26, 1952,her married name was Eanes.²

     His Social Security Number was 224-24-8061.⁸ John Ansel Creger was buried at Highland Memory Gardens, Rt. 11 between Dublin and Radford, Pulaski Co., Virginia.^3,9 He was born on May 12, 1930 at Pulaski Co., Virginia.^8,3,5,7 He married Linda Faye Eanes, daughter of James Wade Eanes and Elizabeth Gwinn Whitlock, on May 26, 1990 at Radford, Virginia.^1,2,3,4 John Ansel Creger died on December 15, 2003 at Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 73.^3,8,6 He John Ansel Creger, 73, of Pulaski, died Monday, December 15, 2003. He was born May 12, 1930, son of Corbett Lee and Ethel Beasley Creger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Lucille Burks, Corbett Lee Creger, Jr., Hazel Poole, Charlie Creger, Mary Ann Creger, Betty Embree, and Frank Creger, Sr. He was a 1960 graduate of V.P.I. and S.U. in Industrial Engineering and was the Industrial Engineering Manager for Hercules, Inc., where he was employed for 32 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the First Baptist Church, and a member of Henry Clay Lodge #280 A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his wife, Linda Eanes Creger; a son, Brandon Ansel Creger; and a daughter, Lindsay Taylor Creger of the home. He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Margy and Bill Woods of Memphis, Tennessee, Mary Beth and Rob McIntire of Aylett, Va; four grandchildren, Maddison and Kagen Woods, and Jordan and Caitlin McIntire. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. on December 16, 2003.³

She was a Founder and lifetime member of the Salem Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Alton O. Clower. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Dewey and Shirley Clower of Spotsylvania, Va., Donald and Hanna Clower of Bowie, Md. and Dennis and Theresa Clower of Newark, Del; sisters, Marie Cooper, Roanoke and Edith Young, Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. on May 4, 2005.¹

     William Dewey Clower William Dewey Clower, 79, of Spotsylvania County passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. He was born and raised in Salem, a son of the late Addie and A.O. Clower. Dewey graduated from the University of Virginia with an electrical engineering degree. He served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. After initially working as an electronic engineer in research and development, he served President Nixon as special assistant for advance planning from 1969 to 1973, then as deputy assistant to Vice President Ford and associate director of the Domestic Council for Intergovernmental Affairs from 1973 to 1975. He was appointed by President Reagan to the Peace Corps Presidential Advisory Committee and the Industry Policy Advisory Committee in 1982, and appointed by President George H.W. Bush to the White House Trade Association Advisory Committee in 1988. In his tenure as a member of the White House staff, Dewey represented Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Bush in 34 foreign countries, planning summits and other high level international meetings. From 1988 through 2002, he served as president and CEO of NATSO Inc. In 1990, Dewey chartered the NATSO Foundation to provide relief to victims of natural disaster. After retiring, he and his wife, Shirley, moved to Fawn Lake in Spotsylvania. He was co-founder of the Men's Christian Fellowship at Fawn Lake, which supports the Fredericksburg Food Bank and Young Life of Greater Fredericksburg. He has served on the Adult Advisory Committee for Young Life in Fairfax and Spotsylvania Counties. Having been a Sunday school teacher, deacon, elder and church treasurer for his various churches, he was on the Strategic Planning Board for Hope Presbyterian Church in Spotsylvania. Survivors include his wife, Shirley T. Clower; son Michael Clower (Sally); daughters Candice Scala (James) and Cathy Shirey (Tom); brothers Donald Clower (Hanna) and Dennis Clower (Theresa); and seven grandchildren, Austin Shirey, Erica Radke (Jon), Andrew Scala, David Scala, Janelle Scala, James Clower and Michelle Clower.⁶ He was born on October 9, 1935 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^3,4,5 He married Shirley Carrol Tuttle on September 1, 1956 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^3,4 William Dewey Clower died on October 31, 2014 at Spotsylvania Co., Virginia, at age 79.⁶
