US Hwy 221, Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia.⁶ She married Robert Edward Sink, son of James Monroe Sink and Lydia Margaret Aldridge.² Her married name was Sink. Mary Ellen "Honey" Wimmer died on August 15, 2002 at Virginia at age 86.⁶ She HUNDLEY, Mary Wimmer, (Honey), of Roanoke, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey, a daughter, Jean Sutphin, and a grandson, Dwayne Walters. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Dunn of Roanoke, Iris Guynn Willis of Christiansburg; sons-in-law, John Dunn and Christy Sutphin, both of Roanoke; grandchildren, Vicky and Gerald Via, Cathy and Wendell Sowers, Eddie and Debbie Gallimore, Cindy Maxwell, Teresa Gallimore, Sonja and Chris Jones; step-grandchildren, Ricky Sutphin, Sherry Sutphin; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Claudine Wimmer of Copper Hill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ollie Mae Nichols, Thelma and Sam Ramsey, all of Roanoke, Mabel Manning of Copper Hill, Rheba and Warren Richard of Springfield; sister-in-law, Freeda Wimmer of Copper Hill. Funeral services will be held at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren on Saturday, August 17, 2002, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Worline and the Rev. Will Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. on August 16, 2002.⁶

     Thelma V. Wimmer was buried at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 8838 Floyd Hwy N. Wimmer was born on February 22, 1920 at Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia.^2,5,4 She married James Monroe Hale Sr., son of Jeremiah Lee "Jerry" Hale and Laura Isabel Wilson, on July 19, 1936.^6,2 As of July 19, 1936,her married name was Hale. Thelma V. Wimmer died on February 27, 2006 at age 86.^2,5,4 She On February 27, 2006, God stretched out His hand to reclaim His angel, "Thel." Now she is in blessed reunion with all her loved ones who were waiting in Heaven for her. Born to Thomas F. and Hattie DeWeese Wimmer on February 22, 1920 in Copper Hill, Va., she was an example of unconditional love to all who had the privilege to know her. Her beautiful smile and love for life brought joy to so many. She loved working in her yard and at her mountain homeplace. Her family was the center of her life and "Mama Hale" was so good to her many sweet "young uns." Laughter, music, and good food were always plentiful when you were together with her. Thelma was a member of First Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years. She was active in her Sunday school class and enjoyed her trips with the Prime Timers. She was preceded in death by James Monroe Hale and Samuel J. Ramsey; sons "Little Jimmy" and Thomas "Buster" Hale; and grandson, Randy Lantz. Those surviving her are three children, Peggy Lantz (Ronnie) of Montvale, Douglas H. Hale and Jackie Renee Roberts of Roanoke; six grandchildren, David Lantz and Teresa Smith of Montvale, Belinda Hale of Richmond, Jimmy Hale and Chrisi Rice of Roanoke, and Tracy Gordon of Dublin. She had ten great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren. Surviving are two sisters, Mabel Manning and Rheba Richards; and one brother, Carl M. Wimmer. The Rev. Stephen Gordon, the Rev. Tracy Gordon, and the Rev. Maurice Wright will conduct a funeral service on March 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the Copper Hill Church of the Brethren. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.      Mabel Lee "Nubbin" Wimmer was buried at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 8838 Floyd Hwy N. US Hwy 221, Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia.³ She was born on December 5, 1921 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^4,1 She married Curtis Wimmer "Dick" Manning, son of Posey Curtis Manning and Frances America Wimmer, on December 23, 1937 at Floyd, Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,8,3 As of December 23, 1937,her married name was Manning. Mabel Lee "Nubbin" Wimmer died on January 30, 2013 at Virginia at age 91.³ She Mabel Wimmer (Nubbin) Manning, 91, of Copper Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis W. Manning. Mabel was a dedicated member of Copper Hill Church of the Brethren. She was very active member in the choir, Ladies Aid, and many other church activities. She was employed with the Bent Mountain Green House for about 10 years before retiring to take care of her husband who had Parkinson Disease. She is survived by her son and wife, James Lee (Jimmie) and Beverly Manning; brother and wife, Carl and Claudine Wimmer, of Copper Hill, Va; a sister and husband, Rheba (Toots) and Warren Richard, of Springfield, Va; three grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Julie Manning, of Lynchburg, Va., Paula Tompkins, of Roanoke , Va., and Michelle and Chris Woods, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn; six great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Floyd, Va., relatives and friends who cared for her and supported her during her long illness. Conner and Lucinda Poff, on April 3, 1868 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of April 3, 1868,her married name was Conner. Mary Catherine "Kitty" Oakes died on February 3, 1922 at Locust Grove, Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 73.⁴

     Carl McKinley Wimmer Sr. was buried at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 8838 Floyd Hwy N. US Hwy 221, Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia.⁵ He was born on January 29, 1927 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,2 He married Lucy Claudine Williams, daughter of Alfred Dewey Williams and Grace Salome Nichols, on November 26, 1949 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^2,10,3,11 Carl McKinley Wimmer Sr. died on November 24, 2014 at Virginia at age 87.⁵ He Carl McKinley Wimmer Sr., 88, of Copper Hill, Va., passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of World War II, Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Pippin Hill Church. Mr. Wimmer was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Hattie DeWeese Wimmer; and by seven siblings. He loved life and family. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Lucy Claudine Wimmer; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Harvey Nichols; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl M.Jr. and Ellen Wimmer; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverley and David Boothe; four grandsons, Patrick Nichols, Michael Nichols (Jamie), Matthew Wimmer (Tonya) and Benjamin Wimmer; two great-granddaughters, Avery and Aubrey; a great- grandson, Rylan; his sister, Reba Richard and husband, Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
