Cooper, 56, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 25, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary E. Cooper; stepfather, LeRoy Yoakam; and grandmother, Ruth Etue. Surviving are, mother, Mary Ann Yoakam; sisters, Anna Maria Cooper, Kathryn Cooper (Larry) Cuddy; brother, Gary (Waurayne) Cooper; partner, Steven Cuddy; nieces, Tatiana and Makayla Cooper; nephew, Joshua Cuddy; and great niece, Maliyah Cooper. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.³ She was born on September 25, 1962 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,4 She died on August 25, 2019 at Virginia at age 56.³

     Lala Gay Strickler was buried at Jacksonville Burial Ground, Rt. 8, 0.25 miles south of Floyd, Floyd Co., Virginia.^3,2,4 She was born on May 2, 1893 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,3,2 As of October 17, 1946,her married name was Redmon.¹ She married Edgar Peter Redmon, son of Yancy Davis Redman and Mary Jane "Molly" Thurman, on October 17, 1946 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 Lala Gay Strickler died on May 4, 1970 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 77.^3,2,4 She Lala Strickler Howery Redmon, 77, of Floyd, widow of Edgar P. Redmon, died Monday in a Roanoke hospital. Surviving are three sons, Maxwell A. Howery, Roanoke, James M. Howery, Salem, Sterling B. Howery, Floyd; a daughter, Mrs. G. D. Shelor Jr., Las Vegas, Nev; a sister, Mrs. Allent Agee, Christiansburg. Burial in Jacksonville Cemetery. on May 5, 1970.⁴

Tillett, 69, of 558 West Main street, died at 5:15 o'clock Saturday morning of a heart attack at his home. The son of James and Martha Bell Tillett, he was born May 15, 1884, at home. He was married in 1914 to Fannie Walter, who died in 1934. In 1937 he was married to Laurel Vandiver, who survives. Also surviving are a son, William J., Indianapolis; a grandchild; two brothers, Paul, route 4; and Elbert, Marion; two sisters, Mrs. E. V. Moore, Peru, rural route; and Mrs. R. P. Walker, South Orange, N. J. A retired C. and O. engineer, he was a lifelong resident of Miami county. He retired Sept. 28, 1947. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, chapter, council. and Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne, the B. of L. E. Elks, and Amaranth. Burial will be in the Reyburn cemetery. on September 12, 1953.⁶ He died on September 12, 1953 at Peru Township, Miami Co., Indiana, at age 69.^4,6
