     Donald Wayne Ball was buried at Rowan Memorial Park, 4126 U.S. Highway 601 N, Salisbury, Rowan Co., North Carolina.¹ He was born on April 5, 1944 at Salisbury, Rowan Co., North Carolina.^2,3 He married Pamela Lynn Maynor, daughter of Tracy Lawrence Maynor Jr. and Ruby Jewell Berry, circa 1980.^2,4 Donald Wayne Ball died on December 11, 2020 at Gastonia, Gaston Co., North Carolina, at age 76.² He Donald Wayne Ball, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, while at Caromont Medical Center in Gastonia. He had been in declining health for the last several months. Born in Rowan County on April 5, 1944, he was the son of the late William Henry and Ada Dennis Ball. Mr. Ball attended Rowan County. After high school he was employed at the Jewel Box and Proctor Chemical in Salisbury before relocating to Las Vegas, Nev., making this his home for 35 years with his now deceased wife, Pamela Maynard Ball. Wayne dealt Black Jack at Caesars' Palace, later becoming a floor supervisor at Oasis Casino at the Dunes. After retiring in 2006, he and his wife returned to North Carolina and settled in Belmont. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pamela Maynard Ball, for whom he was a devoted caregiver until her death. A brother, Bill Ball, and a sister, Frances Ball Julian Holder also are deceased. Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Tamara Lynn Steady (Robert) of Lusby, Md., and Tamara Grace Higginbotham (John) of Belmont; two sons, Donald Wayne Ball, Jr. (Rhonda) of Salisbury and Michael Preston Ball (Debbie) of Woodleaf; and sister, Delores Ball Varner of Richmond, Va. Wayne was a man with a kind and giving heart with a laugh no one could mistake for anyone else. He will be missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. on December 20, 2020.²
