She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip E. "Big Phil" Lyles. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ivan Caldwell, Moneta; sons, Phillip I. Lyles and fiancee, Dawn Goad, Michael J. Lyles, all of Roanoke; grandchildren, Constance M. Caldwell and Drew Caldwell, Moneta; her mother, Mildred Kesler, Montvale; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Fralin, Salem, Shirley and Von Widener, Montvale, Barbara and Steve Shrewsbury, Rocky Mount; brother, Randy Kesler, Montvale; an aunt, Louise Shrader, Roanoke; she was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will follow in Restvale Cemetery, Floyd County. on November 25, 1999.⁴

     Darlene Janette Pierce was buried at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., West Virginia.² She was born on September 9, 1936 at Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., West Virginia.² As of August 7, 1956,her married name was Snyder.¹ She married Carroll Clinton Snyder, son of Walter Clinton Snyder and Versie Ola "Sis" Poff, on August 7, 1956 at Tarrant Co., Texas.¹ Darlene Janette Pierce died on November 19, 2003 at Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., West Virginia, at age 67.² She Darlene Jannelle Pierce Copenhaver, 67, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 9, 1936, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of Goldie O. Shirley Palmer of Martinsburg and the late William H. Pierce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine D. Copenhaver. She served in the U.S. Air Force. She was a manager at Martinsburg Public Housing. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene and attended Covenant Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by four daughters, Cynthia L. Russell of Winchester, Va., Debra S. Faircloth of Martinsburg, Jannelle R. Williams of Winchester and Crystal B. White of Hedgesville, W.Va; two sisters, Mary L. Henry of Martinsburg and Donna J. Staubs of Inwood; one brother, James W. Pierce of Laurel, Md; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother, William Pierce. Burial with military honors will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens. on November 21, 2003.²
