Caroline was a devoted mom and grandma and delighted in caring for her family. Surviving are her husband, Frank; her mother, Lorraine Ermel of Burlington; children, Frank Jr. (Angela) Childers, Nicholas C. (Jenny Pigg) Childers and Angie May (Carl Vuorenmas) Childers, all of Plato Center; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Nicholas Jr; brother, Frederick Jr. (Donna) Ermel of Lexington, S.C; and mother-in-law, Ida Jane Childers of Plato Center. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred on Feb. 13, 2002; and infant sister, Susan Marie Ermel. on May 22, 2005.4

(Jenny Pigg) Childers and Angela (Carl Vuorenmaa) Childers; three grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Nicholas Jr; his mother, Ida Jane Childers all of Plato Center; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Ermel of Plato Center; brothers, LaVerne (Christine) Childers of Savanna and Willy (Sharon) Childers of Hinckley; sisters, Sharon (Larry) Krepel of Virgil and Tammy (Pat) Joyce of Sycamore; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline on May 20, 2005; and his father, Harvey in 1979. Burial will be in the Plato Center Cemetery. on July 20, 2005.4

The child was born June 26 in St. Joseph's hospital Elgin, Illinois. Surviving besides her parents, are a sister, Caroline; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Walters and Mr. arid Mrs. Louis Ermel of Elgin and two great-grandparents, Fred Puffpaff and Mrs. Julienne Ermel, both of Elgin. Private funeral services were held Friday at the James A. O'Connor funeral home with burial in the East Dundee cemetery. on August 8, 1957.5

Surviving him are his wife, Joyce Stewart Fix; two sons, Michael Goodman and wife, Julee, of Fincastle, Va., and Jayson Goodman and wife, Angela, of Durham, N.C; a daughter, Jennifer Connor and husband, Chuck, of Shady Spring; six grandchildren, Kayley Goodman, Tyler Goodman, Chase Connor, Ethan Connor, Luke Goodman and Olivia Grace Goodman; and several sisters and brothers-in-law whom he dearly loved. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, Beckley. on May 1, 2008.2

     Morris Hampton Hoback was buried at Calfee Cemetery, Mount Tabor Road, Mount Tabor, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2 He was born on August 28, 1936 at Maple Fork, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2 He died on July 14, 1943 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 6.2,3 He Hampton Hoback, seven year old Eccles boy, died in the Beckley hospital at 8:10 p.m., yesterday of a gun-shot wound in the head. He was admitted to the hospital about 5 p.m. Reports from Eccles were that the lad played with a 22-caibre revolver which was accidently discharged, the bullet striking him in the head. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hoback. The father is employed as a miner by the Crab Orchard Improvement company. Dr. W. W. Hume, county coroner, went to the Calfee Funeral Home this afternoon to view the body and make an investigation. on July 15, 1943.3
