She is survived by daughter Gudrun MacMillan (William) of Jackson, Mich., son Erik Rule (Sylvia) of Bright, Ontario Canada, daughter Dr. Ingrid Rule of Loveland, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Alice was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and active in our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Alice was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and came to this country as a bride. She was deeply involved in her community through the Westside Extension Club, Meals on Wheels, House of Neighborly Service, Neighbor to Neighbor, Habitat for Humanity and Larimer County Food Bank to mention a few organizations. She was a host family for many international students through the CSU International Center. Together with her husband they opened The Tennis Center, which brought the first indoor tennis courts to Northern Colorado. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. on April 20, 2014.2

Born November 20, 1942 on Powell Mountain in Oakvale, WV he was a son of the late Jack Owen and Lakie Martin Powell. Paul joined the U.S. Navy where he was medically discharged in 1961. Paul retired from the WV Turnpike Commission with 38 years of loyal and dedicated service. He was awarded the Supervisor of the year award and had over 2 million "safe driving miles". In 1975, Paul founded and operated Paul's License Service on Mercer Street and later moved to Thorn Street. He was a member of Goodwyns Chapel Church of Christ for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jackson F. Powell, Sr., a niece, Terri Powell Barie and his former wife, Anna M. Powell. Paul is survived by his loving daughter, Rhonda A. Thomas and step-son, Michael G. Smith and companion Dora both of Princeton; Grandchildren, Heather Ramirez and husband Fred, Chasen Thomas and wife Jackie, and the grandchildren he raised, Tamala Gore and husband Terrence and Gregory Smith and wife Allie all of Princeton; Great-grandchildren, Dhestyn, Saeghyn, Glaecyn, Khamrin, Ayce, Ky'Anna, Kaize, Lexy and Madison; Loving sister, Thressa Carper and husband Orville; Special niece, Gina Sively and companion Howie, and nephew, Jacky Powell and wife Sandy all of Princeton; His significant other, Pearl Akers of Princeton.
