Rule, 94, of Loveland, Colo., loving wife of Dr. Kenneth Rule, died on April 13, 2014. She passed away peacefully in Pathways Hospice surrounded by her family. She is survived by daughter Gudrun MacMillan (William) of Jackson, Mich., son Erik Rule (Sylvia) of Bright, Ontario Canada, daughter Dr. Ingrid Rule of Loveland, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Alice was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and active in our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Alice was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and came to this country as a bride. She was deeply involved in her community through the Westside Extension Club, Meals on Wheels, House of Neighborly Service, Neighbor to Neighbor, Habitat for Humanity and Larimer County Food Bank to mention a few organizations. She was a host family for many international students through the CSU International Center. Together with her husband they opened The Tennis Center, which brought the first indoor tennis courts to Northern Colorado. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. on April 20, 2014.²

Born July 16, 1926 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Earley Lee and Mary Johnson Hall. She was a 1945 graduate of Princeton High School. She was a former employee of the Maidenform Corporation in Princeton and was of the Protestant faith. Helen was a very proud 25-year volunteer at Princeton Community Hospital. She was also a contributor to many organizations. In addition to her parents, her husband, Jackson F. Powell; and one brother, George D. Hall preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Daniel R. Brown and Jackson F. Powell Jr. and wife Sandra E. all of Princeton; two daughters, Donna K. Shaver and husband Jim and Terri L. Barie and husband Roger all of Princeton; 10 grandchildren, Brandi Shaver, Joshua Powell, Chucky Barie, Amber Barie, Aaron Shaver, Aaron Akers, Daniel Snapp, Jason Snapp, Brandy Powell and Miranda Powell; one sister, Virginia Mullins of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law, Lakie Powell of Princeton; one sister-in-law, Thressa Carper of Princeton; one brother-in-law, Paul E. A private graveside service will be held for the family. Mrs. Sellers was born on June 19, 1938 in Princeton, West Virginia to the late Ray and Ethel Wooten Ferguson. She was also preceded in death by her step daughter, Patty Weaver and three brothers, Jack Ferguson, Robert Ferguson and Wayne Ferguson. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Kendred Sellers, Jr; three children, Vicki Rasmussen (Butch), Kenneth Sellers, and Donna McHan, eight grandchildren, five great-grand-children; brother, Fred Ferguson, and two sisters; Marleen Mingin and Judi Ferguson. on December 16, 2021.²

Syres, 88, of Princeton, W.Va., died Sunday, July 9 at Princeton Health Care Center. She was born July 16, 1917 in Oakvale. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Nannie Melvin Jones; husband, Thurman Woodrow Syres; two sons, Jimmy Davis and Cecil Davis; one grandson, David Keith Barton; and one brother, Hubert Jones. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons, Edward Davis and wife, Joanne of Troutville and Bobby Williams and wife, Rosemary of Union Hall; five daughters, Carol Barton and husband, Ronnie of Leonardtown, Md., Teresa Jennings and husband, Frankie of Lashmeet, Vicki Jessee and husband, Rick of Bluefield, Joy Matthews and husband, Lewis and Janice Duncan, all of New Port Richey, Fla; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.      Paul Eugene Powell was buried at Resthaven Memorial Park, 1917 West Main Street, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^2,3 He Paul Eugene Powell, 75 of Princeton, WV was surrounded in the love of his family and was peacefully ushered home to God on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born November 20, 1942 on Powell Mountain in Oakvale, WV he was a son of the late Jack Owen and Lakie Martin Powell. Paul joined the U.S. Navy where he was medically discharged in 1961. Paul retired from the WV Turnpike Commission with 38 years of loyal and dedicated service. He was awarded the Supervisor of the year award and had over 2 million "safe driving miles". In 1975, Paul founded and operated Paul's License Service on Mercer Street and later moved to Thorn Street. He was a member of Goodwyns Chapel Church of Christ for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jackson F. Powell, Sr., a niece, Terri Powell Barie and his former wife, Anna M. Powell. Paul is survived by his loving daughter, Rhonda A. Thomas and step-son, Michael G. Smith and companion Dora both of Princeton; Grandchildren, Heather Ramirez and husband Fred, Chasen Thomas and wife Jackie, and the grandchildren he raised, Tamala Gore and husband Terrence and Gregory Smith and wife Allie all of Princeton; Great-grandchildren, Dhestyn, Saeghyn, Glaecyn, Khamrin, Ayce, Ky'Anna, Kaize, Lexy and Madison; Loving sister, Thressa Carper and husband Orville; Special niece, Gina Sively and companion Howie, and nephew, Jacky Powell and wife Sandy all of Princeton; His significant other, Pearl Akers of Princeton.
