He is survived by their four children, Scott Nelson (Wynnette) of St. Augustine, Robin Cannady (Wesley) of Jacksonville, Lisa Bass of St. Augustine and Lisa Hurley of Jacksonville as well as 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cleve grew up on Tree Hill in Arlington and graduated from Landon High School. In 1965 he became a professional surveyor and mapper, License Number 1911. He retired from the Corps of Engineers in 1993 after 30 years. During this time he also graduated from the University of North Florida. Cleve was a devoted member of the Fort Caroline United Methodist Church. He was a kind compassionate man who shared his time with you as if you were the only person in the room. on June 7, 2018.1

Jacqueline Kay "Jackie" Nelson Jackie Powell, 75 passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017. Jackie was born November 6, 1941 in Lake Lillian, MN. She graduated from Atwater, MN High School in 1959 where she was crowned Home coming queen. She moved to Jacksonville in 1970 along with her daughter Lisa and son Scott. She married Cleve Powell in 1972. They had 45 years together. Jackie worked at Jax Federal Credit Union, retiring as manager in 1996 after 25 years of service. She is preceded in death by her father, mother and sister. She is survived by her husband Cleve, sister Sandy (J.W.) Jacksonville, Brother Eldon (Donna) Belview, MN and sister, Candy (Lonnie) Olivia, MN, Son Scott Nelson (Wynnette) St. Augustine, daughters Lisa Hurley, Jacksonville, Robin Cannady (Wes), Lisa Bass, St. Augustine, as well as 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews and several cousins. Jackie was an avid bridge player, A Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan and a Dale Earnhardt fan. Her family will always remember how Jackie made holidays & family occasions so special for her extended family. She was born on May 9, 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida, the much-loved, only child of F. Bruce and Besse Powell Johnson and great-granddaughter of F.W. Bruce, one of the founding fathers of the Arlington community. Lou was very proud of her Arlington heritage as well as her family's roots in the beautiful West Virginia mountains. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, James Jimmy Sikes. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 59 years, Arthur Neil Sikes, her loving daughter and son, Margie (John) Anderson and Bruce (Amy) Sikes. Lou was affectionately called Grandma by her grandchildren, Katie (Kyle) Weeks, Sarah (Danniel) Drinkall, Meghan Reinhardt, John Neil Anderson and Owen Sikes, and fondly known as Bama to her six great-grandchildren, Liam, Olivia, Amelia, Connor, Emryk and Wren. She is also survived by many cherished cousins, most especially Cleve (Jackie) Powell, as well as many other dearly loved family members and friends. Lou had a career she enjoyed in the insurance industry and was a lifelong member of Arlington United Methodist Church, where she served in several capacities. She took great joy in traveling to her family's homestead on Powell Mountain, West Virginia as well as collecting seashells on her adored Sanibel Island beaches. Lou was a woman of integrity, strong faith and abiding love of family. We will miss her wry sense of humor and her warm, quiet affection. The importance of love for and loyalty to family that she instilled in each of us will live on forever in our hearts. Interment in Arlington Park Cemetery. on November 1, 2015.1

Neil is survived by his children, Margie (John) Anderson of Bartow, FL and Bruce (Amy) Sikes of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Walter (Justina) of Jacksonville FL; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Jimmy. Neil was born in Jacksonville on April 27, 1925. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and worked as a lithographer until his retirement. He loved fishing, woodworking, his family and his Church. Like so many men of his great generation, Neil was a simple and selfless man, and not a single moment of greatness was performed with the expectation of gaining recognition. Instead, Neil was someone who lived each day knowing who he was, a man committed to supporting his family, loving his wife, offering unconditional love and support to his children and treating all people with respect. He took great pride in his work, both at home and in the workplace, and took great care of his property and belongings. If Neil did a job for you, you knew it was going to be done properly. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to others and lived his life with tremendous integrity. He embodied the spirit of the golden rule and was the kind of man that strong families and communities are built upon. His example will be carried on through his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. on August 1, 2017.3
