Virginia Dare Nicely was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 1521 South Carpenter Drive, Covington, Alleghany Co., Virginia.2,3 She Virginia Dare “Jenny” Nicely Crowder, age 74, of 1712 Forest Hills Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at her residence. Jenny was born September 26, 1946 in Clifton Forge, a daughter of the late James Ralph Nicely, Sr. and Reba Conner Nicely. She was the Owner/Operator of the Clifton Forge Dairy Queen for over 35 years and a member of Victory Baptist Church. She loved her family and church family, was a friend to all, and always ready with a beautiful smile. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Edward Crowder in 2016; two brothers, James Ralph “Jack” Nicely, Jr. and Ermon David Nicely; and a sister, Barbara Nicely Hayse. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Maydian and husband Curtis of Eagle Rock and Kristi Martin and husband Jonathan of Eagle Rock; a son, Darrell Crowder and wife Susie of Eagle Rock; four sisters, Alma Jean “Peggy” Nicely of Clifton Forge, Betty Bottenfield of Verona, Shirley McCoy and husband Cecil of Millboro, and Betty Lou Wall of Roanoke; a brother-in-law, Jack Hayse of Covington; an aunt, Ruth Hepler; five grandchildren, Matthew Maydian, Kaci Maydian, Trevor Maydian, Easton Martin, and Amber Hickey; two great grandchildren, Autumn Hickey and Raegan Hickey; and a number of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington. Pallbearers will be Matthew Maydian, Trevor Maydian, Brian Broughman, Tyler Broughman, Curtis Maydian and Jonathan Martin.2 She was born on September 26, 1946 at Clifton Forge, Alleghany Co., Virginia.1,3,2 As of December 9, 1966,her married name was Crowder.1 She married Gerald Edward Crowder, son of Harry Lee Crowder and Lucille Wilson, on December 9, 1966 at Alleghany Co., Virginia.1,2,4 Virginia Dare Nicely died on February 16, 2021 at Clifton Forge, Alleghany Co., Virginia, at age 74.2

Joyce Anne Campbell Joyce Campbell Tucker, 81, of Martinsville passed away on Sunday October 9, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, N.C. She was born July 19, 1935 in Covington, Va. to the late Leonard and Frances Crowder Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Byrd Tucker, Sr; one son, Byrd "Junior" Tucker, Jr; one grandson, Thomas Wayne Tucker, II; two brothers, Billy and Benny Campbell, and one sister, Doris Paxton. Mrs. Tucker was of the Christian faith, and had worked as a waitress for over 50 years, 10 years at the former Hut Restaurant, and 40 years at the Dutch Inn. She is survived by three sons, Tommy Tucker of Martinsville, Aaron Tucker of Fieldale, and Mark Tucker of Martinsville; two sisters, Jenny Cox and Ruby Harris of Richmond; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.5 She was buried at Roselawn Burial Park, 103 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, Virginia.5,7 She was born on July 19, 1935 at Covington, Alleghany Co., Virginia.5 As of October 24, 1951,her married name was Tucker.2 She married Byrd Bowles Tucker Sr. on October 24, 1951 at Covington, Alleghany Co., Virginia.2,5,7 Joyce Anne Campbell died on October 9, 2016 at Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina, at age 81.5
