Michael William "Mike" Wolfe was buried at Cambria Cemetery, Cambria, Wayne Co., Iowa.2,3 He Michael “Mike” William Wolfe, forever to be known as Papa, lost his fight with Covid-19 on September 7, 2020 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Michael was born on November 25, 1953 to Henry Duane Wolfe and Leota Jean (Bales) Wolfe in Des Moines, Iowa. He was followed by his brother, Richard and his sisters: LeeAnn and Debbie. Growing up, Mike attended Capital Heights United Methodist Church and his faith remained important to him throughout his life. Mike graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1972. He enlisted in the Army in the fall of 1972. He served as a Military Policeman, first doing prisoner transports from Vietnam and later in Germany as a liaison with the German Police. He received an honorable discharge in January of 1977. After his return to civilian life, Mike spent many years as a truck driver. He was very proud of his record of 2,000,000 miles accident free. After a career ending injury, Mike attended Indian Hills Community College, where he received his Associates Degree. He began working as a Corrections Officer at the South Iowa Juvenile Detention Agency where he enjoyed working with the youth. When the detention center closed, Mike retired. In his retirement, he began transporting people from the local Amish communities. Mike was joined in marriage to Betty Lou Boggs on December 10, 1986. Her children, Brian and Catheryn, were followed by Michael, William, and Sarah. Mike was joined in marriage to Sondra Renee Perkins on October 10, 2002. They blended their families and raised Mike, Billy, Sarah, Amanda, and Eric in Corydon, Iowa. Mike and Sondra later moved to their little farm west of Allerton, Iowa. Mike enjoyed caring for his yard and garden, his orchard, and various animals. His greatest love in life was his family and especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Mike was active in the local community. He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts. He was an active member of the American Legion, first in Corydon and later in Allerton. His most beloved activity was playing Santa. He loved the children and really enjoyed seeing the second generation of families visiting him. Mike is survived by his wife, Sondra Wolfe; sons: Michael (Lisa) Wolfe, William (Renee) Wolfe and Eric Carlson; daughters: Sarah (Mark) Beck, Amanda (Adam) Snow, and Cathy (Rodney) McDonald; brother, Richard (Maureen) Wolfe; sisters: LeeAnn (Marty) Martin and Debbie Kile. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Logan and Dakota Rogers, Katie and Emalea Wolfe, Brenden, Kenzie, and Taylor Wolfe, Skyler Houk, Samarah, Malachi, and Atalia Wilson, Henry Wolfe, Lauren and Stevie Beck, Jordyn and Treyson Housley, Leighton Snow, Ethan Warren, and Kelly Sue Voigts. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Sharon Perkins; brothers-in-law: Mike (Malinda) Perkins and Alan (Kim) Perkins; sisters-in-law: Susan (Wade) Duley and Stacy Henry, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his, father Henry Duane Wolfe; mother, Leota Jean Wolfe; father-in-law, Rex Perkins; son, Brian Cowling, and an infant sister. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will follow at Cambria Cemetery. The family respectfully asks that all in attendance wear a face mask. Please dress casually, as Mike was a jeans and plaid shirt kind of guy. Tabor, 87, of 424 Albemarle St., Bluefield, WV, died Wednesday March 28, 2007 at a Bluefield hospital. Born August 1, 1919 in Bluefield, WV he was a son of the late James A. Tabor, Sr. and Lurlie Pinson Tabor. Mr. Tabor was retired from the WV State Road Commission. He was a very active member of the Bland Street United Methodist Church. In addition Don was a member of the Bluefield Cemetery Commission, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3856, a life member of the Riley-Vest Post #9 American Legion, 50 year member of the Bluefield-Mercer Lodge #85 AF&AM, Bluefield Moose #1079, and the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp #1694 Flat Top Copperheads. Mr. Tabor was a veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army as Tech. Sergeant in the 204th Ordinance Unit in the Pacific Theater. In addition to his parents; Mr. Tabor was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Tabor; and his brother, James A. Tabor, Jr. Survivors include his children; a son, Donald H. Tabor, Jr. of Charleston, WV and a daughter Julie A. Shields and husband Scott of Fairmont, WV. Funeral services for Mr. Tabor will be conducted from the Bland Street United Methodist Church Monday April 2, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. David Hall, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow from the Monte Vista Park Cemetery located in Green Valley. Military Graveside Rites will be preformed by American Legion Post #14 Pocahontas, VA and V.F.W. Post 9696 of Bluefield, VA, and Masonic Graveside rites will be preformed by Bluefield-Mercer Lodge #85 AF & AM. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Masons of the Bluefield-Mercer Lodge# 85 AF & AM. on April 1, 2007.4

Fayette Mae Carter Fayetta Mae Carter Hall, daughter of the late Verne Carter and Blanche Harris Carter, was born May 24, 1922 in Glidden, Iowa. She departed this life November 16, 2017 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 95 years, 5 months and 23 days. She was united in marriage to Ernest Hall on December 5, 1959. Fayetta spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, homemaker and friend. After graduating high school, she earned a Teaching Certificate, although she chose not to teach school. Most of her working years were spent as the librarian at Calico Rock Library. She retired after 36 years of employment. She was a gifted pianist, playing in church, at funerals, weddings and at Guiding Star Chapter of the Eastern Star in Calico Rock. Fayetta was a 60 year member of The Order of the Eastern Star. In 2014, she was elected Grand Organist for the Arkansas Grand Chapter. For many years, she taught piano in her home and after work at Norfork School. Fayetta enjoyed traveling to places such as, Germany, New York, California and Arizona. She was of the Presbyterian faith and a long time member of Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She devoted her life to her church and helping others. She is survived by one daughter: Melody Killebrew of Calico Rock; two sons and two daughters-in-law: Patrick and Virginia Ballard of Mountain Home and Mike and Kathy Ballard of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter-in-law: Jennie Ballard of Calico Rock; one brother: Jack Carter of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Kim Rush Sanders (Eric)of Pineville, Justin Rush (Missy) of Salem, Sharon Ballard of Kansas City, Missouri, Jonathan Ballard (Susan) of Mountain Home, Matthew Ballard (Brooke) of Mountain Home, Jake Ballard (Terenessa) of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Nick Ballard of Sierra Vista, Arizona; three step grandchildren: Larry Long of Calico Rock, Kathy Houston of Conway and Pam Holms of Sherwood; twelve great grandchildren: Bailey Whiteaker (Willie), Carson Gibson (Jonathan), Remi Rush, Logan Ballard, Isaac Ballard, Anabel Ballard, Landra Ballard, Audrey Ballard, Quentin Ballard, Linaura Ballard, Tauriel Ballard and Trystan Lickteig; two great great grandchildren: Kenley Whiteaker and Lewcas Gibson; long time friends: Sue Vinson and Mondalyn McCormack both of Calico Rock and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother: Dale Carter; one sister: Dorothy Mingus; her son: Charles (Chuck) Ballard; one grandson: Stephen Ballard; one great granddaughter: Shelby Rush; three stepdaughters: Verda Long, Louise Hall and Joyce Rueckert. Visitation will be Sunday, November 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Funeral service will be Monday, November 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Wayne Wood and Tom Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemtery. Pallbearers: Justin Rush, Jonathan Ballard, Matthew Ballard, Remi Rush, Logan Ballard, Willie Whiteaker. Honorary Pallbearers: Eric Sanders, Jonathan Gibson, Jake Ballard, Nick Ballard, Isaac Ballard, Trystan Lickteig and Cory West.2 She was buried at Roselawn Cemetery, Calico Rock, Izard Co., Arkansas.2,3 She was born on May 24, 1922 at Gidden, Carroll Co., Iowa.2,3 As of January 22, 1942,her married name was Ballard.1 She married Charles Arlie Ballard, son of John Barton Ballard and Virgie Lee Caldwell, on January 22, 1942 at Howell Co., Missouri.1 Fayette Mae Carter and Charles Arlie Ballard were divorced before December, 1959.2 Fayette Mae Carter died on November 16, 2017 at Calico Rock, Izard Co., Arkansas, at age 95.2
