He leaves behind his former spouse, Loretta Sizemore; his son, Scott McAlarnis & wife Misty of Hazard, KY; his brother, Jim McAlarnis of London, KY; three grandchildren, Mason McAlarnis, Kyra McAlarnis, Dani McAlarnis, all of Hazard, KY, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Peno" Castegnaro; sisters Nellie Armstrong, Virginia Basso and Josephine French; brother Eugene McAlarnis and brothers Dan and James McAlarnis. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Alice Jewel and special son-in-law Bruce, along with a host of nieces, nephews and godchildren. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. The family received friends on Tuesday, April 12 at the Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Services followed with Father Mike Chowning officiating. Interment took place at the Riverside Cemetery in Hazard. on April 13, 2011.¹
