He was a member of the Church of Christ on Washington Street and the FMC Sportsman Club and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker and a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by daughters, Sherry Strother and her husband, Gene, of Chesapeake, Va., Karen Duffy and her husband, Michael, of St. Albans and Alice Lezu and her husband, Michael, of Claremont, N.H., brother, David White and his wife, Ada, of St. Albans; sisters, Mae Chapman of South Charleston and Margaret Beane and her husband, James, of St. Albans; grandchildren, Mike Strother, Tim Strother, Eric Duffy, Matt Strother, Edward Duffy, Emily Duffy, Ian Lezu and Ben Lezu; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Strother, Kailey Strother, Nick Duffy, Cameryn Strother, Sarah Strother, Andy Duffy, Samantha Duffy, Rylee Strother, Lauren Strother, Abbey Strother and Katie Lezu. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, at Washington Street Church of Christ with Evangelist Eddie Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park with military graveside rites. on December 29, 2008.1
