     Gary Glenn Paxton Gary Glenn Paxton, 57, of Nitro, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Thomas Memorial Hospital. He retired as a first mate in the boat towing business and was a lifelong resident of the Kanawha Valley. He was a Christian. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Viola Paxton; wife, Gertrude Paxton and a sister, Carol Paxton. Surviving are sons, Glenn Paxton of Nitro and Rocky Paxton of Florida; daughters, Shawn McCarty of Cross Lanes, Dale Ann Farrell of St. Albans; brothers, Doyle of St. Albans, Rick of Nitro, Randy of North Charleston; sisters, Linda Hand, Janet Davis, Adena McCune, Karen Anderson, Debra Taylor, Judy Sheppard; grandson, Brett Allen Paxton; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with the Rev. Bob Smith officiating.
