He was killed on April 16, 1945, in Germany during World War II. She later married Leroy E Ziegler on July 29, 1946. He died on Dec 21, 1974. She was married to Richard McCurdy on Aug 7, 1982, at Diamond. He survives. Mrs. McCurdy had attended the Oil City schools. She was affiliated with the Salvation Army of Oil City; enjoyed writing, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her husband of Titusville, RD 4. and the following children: Leroy E. Ziegler, Jr, of Oil City, Mrs. Larry (Judy) Lepley and Mrs. William (Mary) England, both of Franklin, Mrs. Barry (Marian) Goughler of Philadelphia, Mrs. Dennis (Donna) Slatten of Zebulon, NC, Mrs. Larry (Lily) Krizon of Cooperstown, Ronald L. Ziegler of Franklin, Brenda L. Ziegler Riddle of Oil City and Mrs. Richard (Vicki) Jackson of Titusville; a step-son, F. Craig McCurdy of Fairbanks, Alaska; 22 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Irene L. Ziegler, a sister, Mrs. Mary Velma Fultz; and a niece, Marian E. Ziegler. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home and attend the funeral service there on Thursday afternoon at a time to be announced. Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery. on May 9, 1995.⁴

     Leroy Eugene "Pete" Ziegler was buried at Venus Cemetery, Fryburg, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.^2,3,5 His Social Security Number was 175-16-756.⁶ He was born on July 25, 1920 at Venus, Venango Co., Pennsylvania.^3,4,5,6 He married Genevieve Maxine McDonald, daughter of George Alloysius McDonald and Marian Maud Whitehill, on July 29, 1946.^1,3 Leroy Eugene "Pete" Ziegler died on December 21, 1974 at Warren, Warren Co., Pennsylvania, at age 54.^1,3,5 He Leroy (Pete) Ziegler, 54, of 318 Center St, died Saturday in Warren. He was born in Venus on July 25, 1920, a son of Edward and Minnie Wise Ziegler. He lived in that area most of his life. For three years he was a resident of Rockland and two years ago moved to Franklin. For many years, Mr Ziegler was self-employed as a truck driver and for 14 years he worked for the M. C. Strickland Co. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Air Force for three years. He was stationed at Lackland Air Base and also in England and France. He and the former Genevieve Maxine McDonald were married on July 29, 1946, and she survives, along with his mother, Mrs. Minnie Ziegler; two sons, Leroy Ziegler, Jr, of Franklin, and Ronald Ziegler, at home; [and] seven daughters, Mrs. Larry (Judith) Lepley, of Franklin; Mrs. William (Mary) England, of Seneca, RD 1; Mrs. Barry (Marian) Goughler, of Franklin, RD 1; Mrs. James (Donna) Firster, of Oil City, RD 2; Lily, Brenda and Vicki Ziegler, at home. Also surviving are two brothers, Earl D., of Oil City, RD 2, [and] Ralph, of Oil City; two sisters, Mrs. Eli (Marian) Salsgiver, of Polk, RD 1, [and] Mrs. Delbert (Dorothy) Moon, of Franklin; and four grandchildren. An infant child is deceased. The body is at the Faller Funeral Home, Fryburg, where friends may call. Funeral services will be conducted there at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Lemuel Rodgers, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in St. Petersburg, officiating. Interment will be in Venus Cemetery. on December 23, 1974.³
