In addition she is survived by her sister & brother-in-law, Jean & Charles Williams of Himrod, NY; sister-in-law, Mary Jo McIntyre of Binghamton, NY and one niece and three nephews. Joan was an accomplished cook and baker, famous for her lavish Christmas Parties and homemade pies. She was passionate about politics and loved her dogs and horses. She was skilled at the lost art of letter writing. She had a gift for knowing just what to say to ease any size heartache. Her small stature and poor health were overshadowed by her enormous heart and compassion for people less fortunate; from an elderly resident in a nursing home with no family to a grandson who had a bad day at school. Her quiet, yet powerful demeanor instilled in her daughters the importance of a close and loving family, which will be her legacy, along with her strong faith and unconditional love. on February 22, 2001.¹
