He was past preident of the Montana CPA group and past master of the Bozeman Masonic Lodge. He held the DeMolay Medal of Honor. Born in Medicine Hat, Alta., he came to this area as a youth.      Oscar Hugo Brust was buried at Conrad Memorial Cemetery, 641 Conrad Drive, Kalispell, Flathead Co., Montana.^1,4 He was born on March 13, 1909 at Kalispell, Flathead Co., Montana.^1,3,4,5,6 He married Stella Mae Wheeler, daughter of David William Wheeler and Nora Albina Gray, on September 3, 1929 at Great Falls, Cascade Co., Montana.³ Oscar Hugo Brust and Stella Mae Wheeler were divorced on October 11, 1946 at Great Falls, Cascade Co., Montana.⁷ Oscar Hugo Brust died on May 23, 1957 at San Quentin Prison, San Quentin, Marin Co., California, at age 48.^1,2,4,5 He CONDEMNED MAN KILLS HIMSELF - San Quentin, Calif. - Oscar Hugo Brust, 47, former Lancaster, Calif. postman, slated to die in San Quentin's gas chamber Friday for shooting to death his wife and stepson in Lancaster, in 1954, committed suicide early Thursday by slashing his throat with a piece of mirror in his death row cell. Brust, convicted for the slayings, had a petition for a stay of execution and a writ of habeas corpus pending before the State Supreme Court. Prison Sgt. John Moore, on his regular rounds, beamed his flashlight into Brust's cell at 5:30 a.m. and noticed blood on Brust's right cheek... on May 24, 1957.²
