     William Traylor William owned 3000 acres on the Appomattox River in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The farm must have been located across the river from the Namozine Parish in Amelia County, as William was appointed to operate the Namozine Ferry, for which he was paid an annual stipend of 600 pounds of tobacco. William and Judith Traylor are listed in America's FFV, First Families of Virginia (1607-1675), being among the 17th Century residents of America.1 He was born circa 1674.1 He married Judith Archer, daughter of George Archer Jr. and Elizabeth A. Harris, on December 6, 1695 at Oakhurst, near Petersburg, Virginia.1 William Traylor William Traylor gave his son John 1000 acres of land on Nooning Creek near Wintopock in Chesterfield County, Virginia. For which he paid his father only five pounds sterling. in 1750.1 He died in February, 1753 at Petersburg, Virginia.1

One son and one daughter have preceded her in death. Her companion departed this life four years ago last September. Besides the three sons and two daughters, she leave eighteen grand children and nine great grand children, one sister and two brothers to mourn her loss. Mother Lacy was baptized in the Christian church (sic) some thirty years ago and lived a true Christian life, doing what she could for the betterment of her relatives and friends. For the past twenty-one years she has made her home in Oak. After an illness of three weeks passed away November 30th, 1917, aged 74 years, 1 month and 2 days. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, Wm. Lacy (sic) Saturday, December 1st, and the remains were laid to rest in the Oak cemetery (sic). on December 13, 1917.4
