     Darrell Glenn Pickerel was buried at Woolwine Cemetery, Woolwine, Patrick Co., Virginia.^4,2 He was born on September 18, 1956 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,4,2,3 He married Glenda Kaye Rorrer on June 3, 1988.^4,2,3 Darrell Glenn Pickerel died on October 17, 2008 at Virginia at age 52.^4,2 He Mr. Darrell Glenn Pickerel, 52, of Woolwine, passed away Friday evening. He was born in Franklin County on September 18, 1956 to Robert and Lennis Via Pickerel of Pulaski, Va. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Pulaski, Va; he graduated from Radford University with a B.S. degree and was an office manager for Corning Cable Systems in Winston Salem. Mr. Pickerel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Jesse and Nannie Lou Via and his paternal grandparents; William and Ella Pickerel. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Glenda Rorrer Pickerel, a daughter; Shannon Pickerel, and a son; Jesse Pickerel. Funeral services for Mr. Pickerel will be at 2:00 PM on Monday October 20, 2008 at Woolwine United Methodist with Pastor Jack Hyde and Pastor David Lones officiating, burial will be at Woolwine Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart and other times at the home place in Woolwine.      Sally Sue St. Clair was born on April 29, 1946 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² As of June 5, 1964,her married name was Rakes.¹ She married Danny Bruce Rakes, son of Herman Columbus Rakes and Claud Merle "Claudie" Sowers, on June 5, 1964 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 Sally Sue St. Clair died on December 30, 2019 at Virginia at age 73.² She Sally St. Clair Rakes, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, December 30, 2019. She was born on April 29, 1946, in Montgomery County. She was a graduate of Christiansburg High School. She is preceded in death by her father, Oscar "Ott" St. Clair; mother, Myrtle St. Clair (Hylton); sister, Doris Jean St. Clair; and brothers-in-law, Bill Wright and H.C. Rakes. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Danny Bruce Rakes; their two sons, Daniel Rakes and Joe Rakes (Daphne); sisters, Neda Rook (Aubry), Ruby Wright, and Nancy Buckland (Donnie); brothers, Roger St. Clair (Carol), and Raymond St. Clair (Helen); brother and sisters-in-law, Ron and Kitty Rakes, and Eden Rakes; grandchildren, Raymond (Amanda), Danielle, Erika, Dustin, and Natalie; special uncle, Joe Sowers; many cousins, many nieces and nephews; special niece, Doris Dickerson; and special nephew, Butch Wright. The family would like to thank special friend Lita King. Sally was a member and treasurer of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, leading Christmas shoe boxes, Thanksgiving boxes, Vacation Bible School and more. She was a wonderful homemaker, caring for her two sons and playing an active role in all their extracurriculars as they grew up, including pack leader of Cub Scout Pack #277, and ran concessions at the school. She then took on the role of grandmother and loved her grandchildren more than life itself. She is a cancer survivor. on January 2, 2020.²

     Herman Columbus "H.C." Rakes Jr. was buried at Den Hill Road Cemetery, Mount Calvery Baptist Church, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ He was born on December 19, 1940 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.³ He married Edean Sarah Brumfield on June 18, 1965 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,4 Herman Columbus "H.C." Rakes Jr. died on January 14, 2017 at Virginia at age 76.¹ He Herman C. Rakes Jr., of Shawsville passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017. H.C. owned and operated H.C. Rakes Jr. Hauling. He grew up farming and continued to enjoy that throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Edean Rakes; parents, Herman C. Rakes, Sr. and Merle Rakes sons, Robert Rakes and Rebecca, and Dales Rakes; daughter, Sandra Rakes and husband, Alex Snodgrass; grandchildren, Trey, Jacob and Daniel; brothers, Don and Ida , Bill and Janice, Bruce and Sally, Ron and Kitty Rakes; sisters-in-law, Frances and Buddy Poff, Martha and Danny Bishop; and special friends, Bill and David Ryan. Special thanks to Blue Ridge Cancer Center and Dr. Rotchie and Good Samaritan Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will beat 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Lanny Belcher and Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in Den Hill Cemetery. Rakes Jr., son of Herman Columbus Rakes and Claud Merle "Claudie" Sowers, on June 18, 1965 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 Edean Sarah Brumfield died on September 23, 2021 at Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 73.² She Edean Brumfield Rakes of Shawsville, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 23, 2021. Edean was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Annie Hylton Brumfield; and the love of her life her husband, H.C. Rakes Jr. Surviving family are daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Rakes and Alex Snodgrass of Christiansburg; sons, Robert Rakes of Christiansburg, and Dale Rakes of Roanoke; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Buddy Poff of Christiansburg, and Martha and Danny Bishop of Radford; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don and Ida Rakes, Bill and Janice Rakes, Ron and Kitty Rakes, and Bruce Rakes, all of Shawsville; step-grandchildren, Trey, Jacob, and Daniel; great-granddaughter, Payton; many loving nieces and nephews; her church family at Sowders Chapel Baptist Church; and her lifelong friend, Carolyn Friend of Richmond. Edean will be remembered for her love of family, gardening and cooking, especially her cakes. She loved God, her church family and being a Sunday School teacher.      Her Social Security Number was 235-48-1709.² Mildred Pearl Acord was born on November 14, 1918 at Lester, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^2,3 As of April 29, 1935,her married name was Pittman.¹ She married Timothy Thomas Pittman, son of Benjamin Douglas "Ben" Pittman and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Terry, on April 29, 1935 at Raleigh Co., West Virginia.¹ Mildred Pearl Acord and Timothy Thomas Pittman were divorced in June, 1957 at Brevard Co., Florida.⁴ Mildred Pearl Acord died on April 4, 1997 at St. Lucie Co., Florida, at age 78.^2,3

     Ira Curtis "Glorybound" Hudson was buried at Downing's Cemetery, Lecato, Accomack Co., Virginia.³ He was born on September 30, 1930 at Chincoteague, Accomack Co., Virginia.^4,2,3 He married Alice Frances Pittman, daughter of Timothy Thomas Pittman and Polly Jane McKinney, circa 1953.^1,3 Ira Curtis "Glorybound" Hudson died on March 19, 2008 at Salisbury, Wicomico Co., Maryland, at age 77.^4,3 He Ira Curtis Hudson, better known as "Glorybound", 77, of Chincoteague, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, surrounded by his beloved wife and family, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. Born on Sept. 30, 1930, in Chincoteague, he was the son of the late Lloyd J. and Elsie Bloxom Hudson. For many years he was the owner and operator of Hudsons Heating and Plumbing in Chincoteague. He retired as custodian for Chincoteague Elementary School after 14 years of service. He will be remembered for his decoy carvings, a 3rd generation carver, a grandson of the late Ira D. Hudson, a well-known Duck carver from Chincoteague. He was a past councilmen and vice-mayor for the town of Chincoteague. He was a member of Accomac Lodge #243 AF & AM, Island Commandary #34, Accomack Chapter #62 Order of Eastern Star, Chincoteague Royal Arch Chapter #75, Eastern Shore of Virginia Shrine club Khedive Temple A.A.O. N.M. S. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He also attended Island Bapitst Church in Chincoteague. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice; two sons; two daughters; two brothers; one sister; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Joel; a brother, Jimmy Hudson; and four sisters, Ruth Hudson, Lula Singer, Pat Walker, and Betty Singer. Several Nieces and Nephews. A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at Island Baptist Church, Chincoteague. Pastor Rick Foster officiated. Interment was in the Downing Cemetery, Oak Hall. on April 1, 2008.³
