Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Davis died in a Charlottesville hospital Sunday. He was born in Person County, N. C., in 1902, a son of Green Davis and Mrs. Ella Mae Gregory Davis. He was married to Alice Newby Davis and was a member of McCanless Memorial Methodist Church. A retired textile employe and farmer, he is survived by his wife of South Boston; six daughters, Mrs. Elsie Mae Hamm of Richmond, Mrs. Inez Morris, Mrs. Lavinia Yancey, Mrs. Bertha D. Martin, Mrs. Lessie Choplin and Mrs. Margie D. Jones, all of South Boston; four sons, Lewis Davis, of Richmond, Joe Davis, Albert Davis and William Davis, all of South Boston; and 14 grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Martha Robertson, Mrs. Bertha Booth, Mrs. Lottie Vaden and Mrs. Jennie Yancey, all of South Boston, and Mrs. Hattie Long of Roxboro, N. C; and two brothers, Johnny Davis and Henry Davis, both of South Boston. The family is at the residence on Berry Hill Rd. on January 10, 1967.⁴

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Lavoris Tillman; one sister, Virginia Carlone; four brothers, Albert, Walter, Murlin (Shorty) and Claude Newby.
