     Mabel Christine Jones was buried at Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Swenfield Road, Franklin Co., Virginia.8,3 She was born on July 13, 1927 at Virginia.1,3,9 She died on February 1, 2011 at Richmond, Virginia, at age 83.3,4,9 She Mabel Christine Jones, 83, of Richmond, Va., and formerly of Callaway, Va., died on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. She was born on July 13, 1927, a daughter of the late Aldine and Pearl Jones. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Stafford Jones, Rudolph Jones, and Ishmael Jones; and sister, Ina J. Messenger. Miss Jones retired from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. She gave annually to several charities including St. Jude Children's Hospital. Surviving are her sisters, Juanita J. Howell, Estelle Jones, and Geraldine J. Smith and husband, William; also her special great-niece, Kimberly Daniel; several other nieces and nephews; and best friend, Bob DeLuca. Special thanks to Brenda Smith Gibson, of Midlothian, who provided her with assistance to doctor's visits and to the hospital. Graveside Services will be conducted from Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. on February 3, 2011.3

Born in Callaway, Va., he grew up in the country learning the important things in life; sweet sunshine for chores in the early mornings and cool evenings for hunting with friends. His character was good, strong and loyal. He had common sense and a right dry wit. He loved his family, his friends and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of Rudolph's proudest accomplishments include; Boy Scout Leader, member of Franklin County Board of Supervisors, Babe Ruth League Baseball Coach, charter member of "The Board," President of the Employee Council at Dupont (Martinsville Plant), Jury Commissioner in Franklin County, member of the Governor's Council for Youth (Rotary) which became Franklin County Parks and Recreation, charter member and officer of the Callaway Rescue Squad, occasional member of the Blackwater Bluegrass Band, committee member for the Lifelong Learning Center at Phoebe Needles and member of the Gogginsville Methodist Church. He was a person well liked and respected, surrounded by friends, and enjoyed many, many good times.     He is dearly loved and will be sorely missed by his wife, Molly; children, Donna Jones Wells (Tommy), and Phil Jones (Jill); stepson, Kasson Bratton (Olivia); grandsons, Jason Jones (Mackenzie), Drue Gray (Heather), and Justin and Michael Wells; sisters, Ina Messinger (W.D. Sr.), Juanita Howell, Estelle Jones, Christine Jones, and Geraldine Smith; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Wright; and brothers, Ishmael and Stafford. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. on June 24, 2009.4

     Geraldine Gillie Jones was buried at Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Swenfield Road, Franklin Co., Virginia.6 She Geraldine Jones Smith, age 92, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024. She was born March 21, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph Aldine Jones and Pearl Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Smith, Jr., brothers Ishmael, Rudolph and Stafford Jones, sisters, Ina Messenger, Juanita Howell, Estelle Jones, and Christine Jones. Surviving are many nieces, nephews, and friends. Geraldine attended St. Peters Mission School in Callaway and was a 1950 graduate of Callaway High School. She was a believer saved by Christ and now is with the Lord Jesus. She loved her family and shared many laughs with them as she had a good sense of humor and easy going personality. She loved dancing and traveling with her husband “Junior” Smith. She is the last of the great generation in the Aldine Jones family. The family expresses their appreciation for the care she received from the many employees of King’s Grant Retirement Community and Mountain Valley Hospice. Her family will receive friends at 10 am and Interment will follow in Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.6 She was born on March 21, 1932 at Franklin Co., Virginia.3,7,6 As of February 16, 1974,her married name was Smith.3 She married William White Smith Jr. on February 16, 1974 at Richmond, Virginia.2,3,4,6,8 Geraldine Gillie Jones died on October 23, 2024 at Virginia at age 92.6
