Born on September 4, 1943, at Quinwood, he was the son of the late Randolph and Inez Manning Guilliams. Arlie was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He built his own dream home on Big Mountain, where he was a husband, father, and grandfather. Arlie was a coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He also owned A.G. Trucking of Quinwood where he hauled coal and gravel. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland "G.L." Guilliams and Harold L. Guilliams. Those left to cherish his memory are his former wife, Ida Starcher Woodring, of Nettie, W.Va; two daughters, Dr. Sherri Guilliams Turner and husband, Dr. Dean Turner, of Dublin, Va., and Rachell Guilliams Stover and husband, Charles, of Charmco, W.Va; one son, Darrell R. Guilliams and wife, Patricia, of Quinwood, W.Va; two sisters, Gloria Markham, of Nettie, W.Va., and Lisa Renea Bailes, of Raleigh, N.C; one brother, Sheldon Guilliams, of Fredericksburg, Va; and eight grandchildren, Brittany N. Guilliams, James William Mason Guilliams, Christian T. Martin, Sheldon Guilliams Redden, Casity S. Guilliams, Christine Guilliams, Harlie Guilliams, and Ivory Martin. The Funeral Service will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Dr. D.W. Turner officiating. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. There will be a private burial later at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.
