     LaVern E. Swanson was buried at Litchfield Cemetery, Litchfield, Sherman Co., Nebraska.^1,3 He was born on December 23, 1924 at Nebraska.^1,3 He Laverne E. Swanson, son of Charles and Rose Swanson, was born December 23, 1924, and passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, November 11, 1940, aged 15 years, 10 months and 18 days. Laverne was injured in an auto accident Sunday evening, November 10, at about 4:15 P. M. and never regained consciousness before death called him. He was a member of the sophomore class of the Litchfield High School. He had taken an active part in all the sports of the school and will be greatly missed by all his school mates. He leaves to mourn his passing, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swanson; five sisters: Gwenivere, Bernadine, Phyllis, Patsy and Norma Jean; his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Ellsworth, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services for the deceased were held Thursday afternoon, November 14, at 2:00 P. M. at the high school auditorium, conducted by Rev. Fred Johnson of Wood River, Nebraska. Interment was in the Litchfield cemetery. In behalf of the citizens of this village and community, the Monitor extends condolence to the family in their hour of bereavement. in November, 1940.³ He died on November 11, 1940 at Kearney, Buffalo Co., Nebraska, at age 15.^1,3

She was born Oct. 14, 1938, in Litchfield to Charles H. and Rose (Ellsworth) Swanson. On Sept. 1, 1957, she married LeRoy K. Lammers in Litchfield. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Shellie Ingersoll and her husband, Odee, of Kearney and Cynthia of Grand Island; grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney, Jordan and Rene' of Kearney; and sisters, Bernadine Alexander of Des Moines, Iowa, Phyllis Rasmussen and her husband, Wendell, of Hazard and Pat Aden of Maryville, Ill. She attended school in Litchfield and was a graduate of Litchfield High School in 1956. She and LeRoy lived in Kearney where they were members of the Kearney Evangelical Free Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Mitch on Feb. 7, 1981; brother, Lavern; and sister, Gwen Eastabrooks. She was born July 7, 1922, in Litchfield to Charles and Rose (Ellsworth) Swanson. In 1943, she married Wendell Eastabrooks in Yuma, Ariz. He died in 1997. Survivors include her sisters, Norma Lammers of Kearney, Phyllis Rasmussen of Hazard, Bernadine Alexander of Des Moines, Iowa, and Patsy Aden of Bethalto, Ill. Additional survivors include her brothers-in-law, LeRoy Lammers of Kearney, Wendell Rasmussen of Hazard and Robert Alexander of Des Moines; and sister-in-law, Myra Snyder of Sheridan, Wyo. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1940 and taught in the Litchfield and Pleasanton areas for one year. She moved to California in 1941 to be with her fiancé. She worked at Cole's in Los Angeles and as a dietitian in the Los Angeles school district. She and her husband lived in California until they moved to Kearney in 1984. She loved dogs. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rodney; brother, LaVerne; and brother-in-law, Merle Aden. Memorials are suggested to St. Luke's Good Samaritan Village. on July 14, 2007.³

     Wendell Duane Eastabrooks Wendell D. Eastabrooks, 73, of Kearney died Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996 at his home. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996 at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney with the Rev. John McNeill officiating. Burial was at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8:30 p.m. Monday and until service time at the Mortuary. He was born May 11, 1922, to Horace and Mabel (Alkire) Eastabrooks in Litchfield. He graduated in 1940 from Litchfield High School. On May 6, 1943, he married Gwenivere "Gwen" Swanson in Yuma, Arizona. Following his service with the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a machinist and supervisor for Rockwell International. He retired after 20 years, on May 11, 1984. The couple had lived in Southgate, Calif., until moving to Kearney 11 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Gwen of Kearney; and sisters, Myra Snider, Sheridan Wyo., and Jean Cothran, Gardena, Calif. He was preceded in death by a son.³ He was buried at Kearney Cemetery, Kearney, Buffalo Co., Nebraska.^1,3 He was born on May 11, 1922 at Litchfield, Sherman Co., Nebraska.^1,3 He married Gwenivere M. "Gwen" Swanson, daughter of Charles Harry Swanson Jr. and Bertha S. Weldin, son of Melvin Everett Weldin and Della May Ellsworth, on August 16, 1966 at Douglas Co., Washington.^1,4 Josephine "Sis" Wade died on January 22, 2009 at East Wenatchee, Chelan Co., Washington, at age 87.^4,3 She Josephine "Sis" Weldin, 87, of Wenatchee, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in East Wenatchee. She was a lifelong resident of Wenatchee. She had been a bookkeeper for the Elks Lodge No. 1186 in Wenatchee for 33 years. Survivors include her husband, Melvin R. Ellsworth, daughter of Clayton Blair Ellsworth and Viola Shrilda Frances Conner, on June 23, 1927 at Loup City, Sherman Co., Nebraska.¹ Dallas Merle Weldin Dallas Merle Weldin was born at Litchfield, Nebr., Sept. 26, 1906 and died in an automobile accident near Scottsbluff early Sunday morning June 23, 1935, aged 28 years, 8 months and 27 days. He received his education in the Litchfield school and grew to manhood here. About 8 years ago he moved with his parents to Alliance, Nebr. where he began working for the Baringer Transfer Co. About a year ago he moved to Torrington, Wyo., but continued in the service of this same company. He was an efficient, dependable and trustworthy employee, always faithful and loyal to his task. On June 23, 1927 at Loup City, Nebr. he was united in marriage to Minnie F. Ellsworth, of Litchfield, Nebr. To this union was born one son, Bobbie Dean, now two and one half years of age. ...Those left to mourn his going are his loving, devoted wife and little son...and Mrs. Geo. Weldin, three brothers, Devilla L., and Velda D. of Alliance and Melvin E., of Dillon, Montana, one sister, Mrs. Edith Thureno, of Alliance; his grandmother, Mrs. L. W. Weldin and his grandfather, Mr. Jacob Engleman, both of Litchfield, besides many other relatives and a host of friends. in June, 1935.¹ He died on June 23, 1935 at Scottsbluff, Scotts Bluff Co., Nebraska, at age 28.^1,2

     Lavonne Ellsworth was buried at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska.⁵ Her married name was Beaumont.² She and Don D. Beaumont were divorced.⁶ Lavonne Ellsworth married Don D. Beaumont.² Lavonne Ellsworth was born on July 22, 1939 at Sherman Co., Nebraska.^1,2 She died on August 21, 2011 at Nebraska at age 72.² She Beaumont, Lavonne, Jul 22, 1939 - Aug 21, 2011, age 72 of Omaha. Preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Martha Ellsworth; brother, Larry Ellsworth; and nephew, Kirk Ellsworth. Survived by children, Pam Hopkins, Jerry Beaumont and Cindy Beaumont; grandchildren, Heather Yocum, Shari Yocum, Melanie Beaumont and Bruce; great grandchildren, Brandon, Brooklyn, and Bailee; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Charlotte Ellsworth. Funeral service Wednesday 2:30pm at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment, Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park. on August 23, 2011.²

     Don D. Beaumont Don D. Beaumont, age 62, of Omaha, died Nov. 24, 2000 after a battle with cancer. Memorial services were at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 27, 2000 at Boyd Braman Mortuary in Omaha with Rev. Don Sarton officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery in Omaha. Mr. Beaumont was born to Harold and Bess Beaumont on Sept. 16, 1938 at Octavia. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1955. He moved to Omaha in 1955 and became a member of local 538 Cement Finishers Union. Later he started Beaumont Concrete Construction and ran that until his death. He is survived by his wife, Judy of Omaha; one son, Jerry of Omaha, Two daughters, Pam and Cindy of Omaha, three granddaughters, Heather, Shari ad Melanie of Omaha; two brothers, Dean (Betty) of Westerville and Dennis (Fae) of Broken Bow; three sisters, Beverly (Don) Sarton of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda (Jim) Zeller and Anita (Stanley) Rewolinski of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Bess Beaumont.¹ He was buried at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska.² He and Lavonne Ellsworth were divorced.¹ Don D. Beaumont married Lavonne Ellsworth, daughter of Eugene R. Ellsworth and Martha Odessa Hemkin.³ Don D.
