Mr. Dolby was born at Helen Furnace, Clarion County, December 17, 1880, a son of William and Alice Jane Smith Dolby. He was married to the former Bertha Felton July 1, 1902, who survives. Besides his widow, he is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Woodford of Marienville; a son, Arden of Oil City; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Della Miller of Buffalo, Mrs. Ida Ions, of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Mary Tony of Warren, Mrs. Grace Coffey of Franklin and Mrs. Nettie Gribble of Snydersburg: five brothers, Joseph Dolby of Franklin, Charles Dolby of Sigel, Amos Dolby of Clarion, Jacob Dolby of Los Angeles and John Dolby of Helen Furnace. Three sons, William, Clifford and Merle; a brother, Vernon and a sister, Mrs. Nora Reaghart, preceded him in death. Rev. James Kane, pastor of the Marienville Methodist Chruch, officiated. Interment was in the Helen Furnace Cemetery. on September 28, 1961.2

Greibel of Snydersburg, Clarion County: and six brothers, William A. of Mariensville, Bartley J. of Galloway, Charles I. of Fisher, Amos L. of Clarion Rd., Jacob A. of Los Angeles and John H. of Helen Furnace. She is survived by five sons, Wilford Paul of Key West, Fla., George H. of Karnes City, Robert Eugene of Kittanning RD 7, Ellwood Dean of Cowansville RD 1, and Dalton R. Ford City, and three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Maybelle) Hartman of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Anthony (Thelma) Petrus of Ford City, and Mrs. Charles (Goldie) Cousins of Cowansville RD 1. Also surviving are two brothers, Amos Dolby of Clarion, and John D. Dolby of Lucinda RD 1, two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Grible of Tylesburg, and Mrs. Mary Connito of Sheffield, 62 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-great-grandchildren. He was married to the former Marguerite Vanderford, who died last July during a visit to Franklin. Mr. Dolby had worked in the oil fields of Texas and Oklahoma before going to California. He was the retired head carpenter for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was also a member of the F & AM Lodge in California. Surviving are three brothers, Joseph Dolby of RD Franklin, Amos Dolby of Brookville and John Dolby of Lucinda, and four sisters, Mrs. Ida Ion of Cowansville, Mrs. Mary Cannito of Jamestown, N.Y; Mrs. Grace M. Coffey of Franklin and Mrs. Nettie Griebel of Snydersburg. Three brothers, Argile, Vernon and Charles, and two sisters, Della Miller and Lenora Reaghart preceded him in death. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday from the Gerald L. Goble Funeral Home in Clarion with the Rev. George Crooks officiating. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making quilts and weaving rugs. She wove hand-loomed rugs for 29 years. Mrs. Griebel first was married to Fred J. Bauer Jr. After he passed away in 1956, she married Maurice Griebel, who died in 1973. Surviving are four sons, Victor Bauer of Tylersburg, Vincent Bauer of Knox, Jerry Bauer of Hobart, Okla., and Max Bauer of Dunsmuir, Calif; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Griebel was preceded in death by three sons, Eugene Bauer, Stephen Bauer and 14-month-old Theodore Bauer; one great-grandchild, Angela McKenna; seven brothers, Argyle Dolby, Vernon Dolby, Joseph Dolby, Charles Dolby, Amos Dolby, Jacob Dolby and John Dolby; and five sisters, Della Miller, Lenora Reaghart, Ida Ion, Mary Cannito and Grace Coffey. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Borland Funeral Home Inc. of Leeper. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary Church, Crown, with the Rev. Thomas Hoderny, pastor, as the presider. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. on August 17, 2000.6

Dolby, aged 24 years, a resident of 544 Colbert avenue who was fatally injured in an motorcycle accident on the McClintockville road late Sunday afternoon, will be conducted in Bethel M. E. church at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Prayer services will be held at the residence at 1 o'clock. Rev. C. C. Mohney, pastor of the church, will officiate, and burial will be made in the Helen Furnace cemetery. The young man suffered a fractured skull, and his neck and left arm were broken, when the rear tire of his motorcycle which he was riding toward Oil City, blew out near the Manion Barrel Works. He lost control of the machine and crashed into a telephone pole. He was unconscious when picked up and was rushed to the Oil City Hospital in the Osenider ambulance, but died before he reached the institution. Coroner Lake D. Steffee investigated the circumstances and gave a verdict of accidental death. The deceased was born on February 25, 1907, in Clarion county, the son of A. W. and Bertha Felton Dolby. He was employed as a stillman by the Pennzoil Co. Surviving are his widow and three children, Mildred, Alice and Donna. His parents, two brothers, William and Arden Dolby and a sister, Gertrude Dolby, all of this city, also survive. on August 24, 1931.6

She was born December 5, 1911, in Franklin, a daughter of Charles and Lenna Brown Blauser. On September 7, 1926, she was united in marriage with John H. Dolby who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Dolores) Williams of Beaver; two sons, Donald Dolby of Lucinda RD 1 and Jack Dolby of Caledonia, N.Y; two sisters, Mrs. Grace King and Mrs. Mae Coulter, both of Oil City; one brother, Ronald Blauser of Oil City, and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Friends may call any time after 2 p.m. today at the Moore-Borland Funeral Home in Leeper. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Arnold Rhodes, pastor of the Covenant United Methodist Church of Leeper, officiating. Private interment will follow in Helen Furnace Cemetery near Miola. on August 26, 1971.3

     Jack William "Jackie" Dolby Jackie W. Dolby, 76, of Clarion, formerly of Lucinda, died late Friday night, March 7, 2008, in Clarion Hospital. Born Oct. 23, 1931, at Clarion RD, he was the son of John and Wilma Blauser Dolby. Mr. Dolby retired in 1988 from Caledonia School District. He was dedicated to his family. Mr. Dolby was married in 1951 to the former Doris L. Gerber, who preceded him in death Dec. 11, 2005. Surviving are two sons, Rick Dolby and wife, JoAnn, of Caledonia, N.Y., and Jackie Dolby of Rochester, N.Y; and six grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Dolores Williams and husband, Cliff. of Zatata, Texas. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dolby was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn LeVan; and a brother, Donald Dolby. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Borland Funeral Home Inc. in Leeper. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. David Coul, pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, officiating. She was born on March 8, 1930, in Clarion County; daughter of the late James and Marguerite Blair Hartzell. Charlotte married Donald H. Dolby, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1988. She worked at Owens Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion. Charlotte was a member of the former United Methodist Church in Helen Furnace. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing games on the computer, working on any kind of puzzle, and spending time with her dog, Snickers. Charlotte is survived by her beloved companion, Harold Carbaugh; her three children, Darlene Dolby and her companion, Adrian Bozik, Stanley Dolby and his wife, Pam, and Joe Dolby and his wife, Gina, all of Lucinda; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Cody, Chad, and Alyssa; and four great granddaughters, Mikayla, Louella, Bynnley, and Vivian, with another one on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Clara Stauffer of New York, Jack Hartzell of New York, and Billie Eck of Vowinckel, and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four sisters, Esther, Donna, Linda, and Peg.
