Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Cox and her husband Gene of Osceola; a son, Jerry Barr and wife Kay of Magnolia; and three grandchildren, Julia Barr of Magnolia, Eugene Cox and Carrie Cox, both of Osceola. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Memorial Baptist Church in Waldo with David Watkins, Mike Turner and Tom Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Cross Road Cemetery near Smackover under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia. Memorials may be made to Ouachita Baptist University or The Baptist Foundation. Active pallbearers will be Dan Waller, J.T. Cooper, Wayne Brown, Harold Fincher, David Clark, Danny Jackson, Ken Kenley and Ronald Mitchell. Honorees will be Pilot Club of Magnolia and members of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. on September 12, 2002.4

He was a 35-year member of the Ripley Fire Department and also was a member of the Ripley Rod and Gun Club and the Ripley Methodist Church. He was a retired mechanic, formerly employed by the town and by the Ripley Central School. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Mae Lewis Eimers, of Ripley, formerly of Seneca. Also surviving are two sons, Lewis Eimers, Cheektowaga, N. Y., and Guernon Eimers of Ripley; one daughter, Ardella Johnson, Angola, N. Y; three brothers, Frank and Harold Eimers, both of Ripley, and William of Port Jefferson, Long Island, N. Y; and one sister, Doris Bemis of Ripley. Mr. Eimers also had three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Mathews Funeral Home, Ripley. Rev. La Verne Proctor will be in charge. Interment will be at the East Ripley Cemetery. on June 8, 1961.6

Friends are being received at the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. James W. Grant, pastor of the First Free Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Brandon Cemetery. on April 29, 1974.4

He always enjoyed his daily rounds to Meeders, County Fair and the Corner. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Eimers, a sister, Ana Rhodes, a brother-in-law, Lloyd Johnson and a sister-in-law, Claribel Eimers and his best friend, Louise (Lou) Cummings. He is survived by a sister, Ardelle Johnson; a nephew, Raymond Eimers and his wife, Gloria; three nieces; Diane Reese and her husband, Wes; Julie Dershan and her husband, Mike; and Sandra Johnson; a cousin, Sam Patton and his wife, Meredith; Chuck and Alice Simmer and family, and several more nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves a dear friends, Sandra Arrigo and Paul Landon, Brenda and Bruce Stebbins, Bob and Linda Kurt and Gary Cummings. Gurney's loving spirit will be sadly missed by all. Friends may call at the William D. Mr. Whitehill was employed by the Railway Express Agency as an agent at its Oil City office. He was later transferred to the Titusville office, retiring in 1968. Following his retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Whitehill spent their winters in Englewood, Fla. for 21 years. While in Florida, he enjoyed shuffleboard and bowling. He was a member of the Tylersburg United Methodist Church and formerly belonged to the Titusville Lions Club. Mr. Whitehill was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving in addition to his wife or a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Phyllis) Weltner of Franklin; two sons, Gary Whitehill of Titus RD 2 and Dwayne Whitehill of Hydetown; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a sister Reah Moore and granddaughter. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home in Titusville. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Rev. Madison Stringfellow, pastor of the Tylersberg United Methodist Church will officiate. His Social Security Number was 198-18-5288.7 Frank Vincent Weltner Frank Vincent Weltner, 84, of Franklin, died at 9:58 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Erie. Born June 20, 1927, in Youngstown, Ohio, Frank was the son of the late Clifford M. and Ellen "Susie" Deely Weltner. He was married March 30, 1949, to the former Phyllis E. Whitehill, and she survives. Mr. Weltner was a retired Navy lieutenant veteran, serving in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and during the Vietnam War Era. He was commissioned in the Navy on June 2, 1960. While in the service he was an electronics installation and maintenance planning officer for Naval Tactical Data Systems Equipment; a ships navigational officer; and a staff engineer officer. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the United Nations Medal-Korea, the Expert Pistol Shoot Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Ribbon, the American Campaign Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, and the Distinguished Pistol Shoot Badge. Mr. Weltner served on naval destroyers, naval submarines, and also on naval research and development ships. He also served on deep sea drilling vessels and exploration research and mapping ships. Mr. Weltner retired from the Navy as a lieutenant on April 30, 1973. Frank was a graduate of Cranberry High School. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Franklin. He was past president of the Franklin Kiwanis Club, the Franklin Chamber of Commerce "Man of the Year" in 2005, a member of the board of directors of the DeBence Music Museum, a member of the board of the Franklin Redevelopment Authority, and a member of the Oil Region Heritage Board. He was a member of Allegheny Valley Trails Association, the National Rifle Association, the Friends of Drake Well, Inc., the Venango County Historical Society, the American Legion, and was a former member of the Austin Healy Club of Southern California. Mr. Weltner was the recipient of the Admiral Nimitz Cup, and was invited to the 1968 Olympic Trials. He was distinguished marksman and 1967 Pacific Fleet pistol champion. Frank was also a member of the Historic Franklin Preservation Association, the Fleet Reserve Association, the Military Officers Association, the Oil Region Alliance, the Allegheny River Stone Center for the Arts, the Heritage Advisory Council to the Oil Region Alliance, and a member of the board of directors of the former Franklin Club. Mr. Weltner was employed by Global Marine Drilling Company as a master mariner until his retirement in December 1986. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, and was well known for his restoration of an old Victorian house on Elk Street in Franklin. In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his son, David T. Weltner and his wife, Shannon, of Downingtown; and his daughters, Judy L. Gibbons and her husband, Tom, of Mariposa, Calif. and Susan K. Nash and her husband, Dan, of Lehi, Utah. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Kerri Gibbons and her husband, Rod Timmons, of Mariposa, Calif., Erin Statkus and her husband, Nick, of Redding, Calif., Christa Nash of Nampa, Idaho, Frank V. Weltner of Pittsburgh, Stephanie Parrott and her husband, Tayler, of Caldwell, Idaho and Jennifer M. Boland and her husband, Nate, of Turtle Creek; and his five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Clara and Molly Statkus, of Redding, Calif., and Patrick and Collin Parrott, of Caldwell, Idaho. Mr. Weltner is additionally survived by his brother, Howard A. Weltner and his wife, Virginia, of Franklin; his sister, June DeLong, of Franklin; his sister-in-law, Margie Weltner, of Largo, Fla; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Weltner was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Donald and Robert Weltner; his brother-in-law, Richard DeLong; and his step-mother, Bernese Weltner. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the First Presbyterian Church in Franklin, with the Rev. Dale Francis, former interim pastor of the church, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
