J. Finnefrock, well-known resident of Kane for almost 40 years, succumbed to an illness of complications at the Community hospital at 12:32 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Finnefrock had been in ill health for the past two months and was stricken seriously ill last Thursday when she was taken to the hospital. Despite her illness, she had been able to be about, visiting relatives in Warren over Christmas. Her death came as a shock to her many friends who were unaware of the critical nature of her last illness. Mrs. Finnefrock was born Harriet Julia Cook at Cooksburg, April 2, 1885. She resided at that place until her marriage to E. J. Finnefrock, June 15, 1904, at Brookville. The couple came here in November of that year, opening a grocery store which remains in business at the same location on Maple street. Until recently she was active in numerous women's organizations of the First Methodist church and a member of the Women's Benefit association. Besides her husband, she is survived by the following sons and daughters: Larue, of Kane; Mrs. Lucile Strubel and Mrs. Gladys McElwain, of Warren; a nephew residing at home, Gale Cook and one grandchild, Lola Jayne Struble of Warren. Also surviving are four brothers, Robert and E. B. Cook of Cooksburg; W. H. Cook, Youngstown, O., and Jess Cook of Chicora. A prayer service will be held from her late home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock followed by funeral rites from the First Methodist church. Interment will be in McKean County Memorial park. on December 30, 1940.3

He was later employed by the United Natural Gas Co. for several years before his retirement. During World War I he served with Co. E. of the Pennsylvania National Guard. He attended Tabor Lutheran Church here. Mr. Cook is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Anderson Cook; and by one brother, Winfield Cook of Youngstown, O. Friends will be received at the Hill-Kelly Funeral Home here at the usual calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 o'clock, Wednesday Funeral services will be held at Hill-Kelly's Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Mallard L. Nelson of Tabor Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor cemetery. on January 2, 1968.1

Peru St. died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at her home. Born Jan. 16, 1912, in Marionville, Pa., to Albert and Mae Long Cook, she married Rayburne Scott. She later married Harry Deutsch. Both husbands, one sister and one brother preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Glenn R. (Barbara) Stamerjohn of Princeton; one sister, Peggy Krueger of Peoria; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was manager of the White Elephant shop at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago for 24 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Princeton and was active with the Church Circle. She delivered mobile meals. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at her church. The Rev. Dr. Jay Carr will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. on January 4, 1997.3

Myers, Florida, formerly of Erie, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Gulf Coast Medical Center. He was born August 21, 1919 in Youngstown, Ohio, son of the late Winfield and Mary Bavard Cook. Rev. Cook had been a minister with The Western Pennsylvania Conference of The United Methodist Church. He was raised in Kane, Pa. and graduated from Kane High School in 1937. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Force, serving as pilot in WW II in the Southwest Pacific, Philippines, Korea and Japan. While in the service he married Beatrice Koebley of Warren, Pa. He graduated from Asbury College in 1950 and Asbury Theological Seminary in 1953. He pastored churches in Falconer and Celeron, N.Y., Sharon, Pa. and Erie, Pa. For six years prior to moving to Florida, he was Minister of Visitation at the Christ United Methodist Church in Erie. While living in Ft. Myers, Rev. Cook served as Minister of Visitation at First UMC and as Coordinator of weekly religious services at his senior apartment complex in Ft. Myers. Gale was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice; his daughter, Mary Lynne Cook; his brother, Neil Cook and his sister, Cleo Musanti. Surviving him are two daughters, Rev. Toni Cook and Cathy Cook both of Denver, Colo; one son, James Michael Cook (Sherry) of New Brighton, Minn; four grandchildren, Sarah Cook-Scalise, Joshua, Brittney and Jennifer Cook, his longtime friend, Selmajane Stuchel, and nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Saturday, October 2 at 2 p.m. Erie Crawford County Veterans Burial Detail will render honors. Interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery. on September 26, 2010.4
