Heverly, 89, of Lock Haven, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Charles was born in Howard, the son of the late Charles and Murle Heverly. Foster parents were Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Kline of Howard. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wilson, of Lock Haven, whom he married at the Quantico Marine Chapel in 1951. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Pamela Heverly, of Lock Haven and Lisa (Edward) Molloy, of Rhode Island; a grandson and grand-daughter-in-law, Drs. Eric Charles and Roya Molloy, of Kansas; a granddaughter, Christa Elizabeth Molloy, of Florida; a great-grandson, Kian Molloy; a great-granddaughter, Tara Molloy; and many cousins. Charles attended Howard Public Schools, West Chester State Teachers College, Marine Corps Officers School, Penn State University and the Army Command and General Staff College. While in the Army, he also studied Commercial Communications with AT&T in New York City and Philadelphia. Charles was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in Marine Corps Reserve in 1951 and served as an Anti-tank Platoon Leader, Rifle Platoon Leader and Regimental Special Services Officer in the 5th Marine Regiment during the Korean War. He was a Captain in the Williamsport Marine Corps Reserve prior to accepting an active duty commission in the Army. Between active service in the Marine Corps and the Army, he taught school for several years at South Williamsport and Lock Haven Junior High Schools. Charles served in various command and staff positions while assigned to Armored and Signal units in Europe, Asia and the United States. He was a Wire Engineer in MACV Headquarters, Saigon during the Vietnam War and Adjutant and Detachment Commander of the 160th Signal Group in Germany. He also served as Operations Officer and Paratrooper in the Communications Support Element, United States Strike Command, where he planned communications support for contingency operations in parts of Africa and the Middle East. Other duties entailed the planning and deployment of military communications equipment and personnel, in support of manned space missions. During the Berlin Blockade, he deployed with armored units to forward operating areas in Germany; and to forward areas in the U.S. with the First Armored Division during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He served as Chief of Communications Security for the Southern Region of NATO (Italy, Greece, Turkey, Malta and Cyprus) while assigned to Allied Forces Southern Europe in Naples, Italy. His final assignment was with the Army Strategic Communications Command with duty as Chief of Communications-Electronics in the Army Intelligence Command. Charles' awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal and the Joint Services Commendation Medal. He and his beloved wife of over 67 years enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as traveling after his retirement. He met Pat at a Big Dance band at Hecla Park in 1951 and he asked her to go roller skating the following night. While skating, he claims she tripped him and he fell for her and has continued to fall for her for over 67 years. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. on January 18, 2019.⁵

     Robert Hulings ROBERT HULING (deceased) was born at Lock Haven, Penn., December 25, 1809, a son of William and Jane (Chatham) Huling, natives of that place. In 1820 they moved to Clarion county, Penn., where Robert received an ordinary education. He learned the blacksmith's trade, which he followed for some years, and in 1839 he moved to Jefferson county, where he worked at his trade and also cleared a farm. In 1857 he came to Forest county, and here settled upon his late farm in Barnett township. Mr. Huling married, in 1837, Miss Mary Mays, daughter of John Mays, of Forest county, and they reared eight children, four of whom are living: Albert and John (in Redclyffe), Louisa (wife of Emanuel Cook, in Jefferson county) and Harriet (wife of Joseph Hall, also in Redclyffe). Mr. Huling died July 2, 1888, a prominent member of the United Brethren Church. Politically he has always been identified with the Republican party, and filled various township offices.¹ He was buried at Redclyffe Methodist Cemetery, Redclyffe, Forest Co., Pennsylvania.^4,2 He was born on December 25, 1809 at Lock Haven, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania.^1,2 He married Mary "Polly" Mays in 1837 at Pennsylvania.^1,3 Robert Hulings died on July 2, 1888 at Barnett Township, Forest Co., Pennsylvania, at age 78.^1,4,2

     Emanuel "Emmanuel" Cook was buried at Hominy Ridge Cemetery, Sigel, Jefferson Co., Pennsylvania.³ He was born on June 24, 1852 at Cooksburg, Forest Co., Pennsylvania.^4,2 He married Louisa Hulings, daughter of Robert Hulings and Mary "Polly" Mays, on July 4, 1872.^1,2 Emanuel "Emmanuel" Cook died on September 23, 1916 at Pennsylvania at age 64.^3,2 He Emmanuel Cook, son of J. R. and Julia Cook, born at Cooksburg, June 24, 1852, died Sept. 23, 1916, aged 64 years 2 months and 28 days. On last Saturday morning about 4 a.m. Mrs. Cook awakened and found Mr. Cook with his feet out of bed. She spoke to him and tried to rouse him, but he did not answer. She lighted a light and upon examination, found he had ceased to breath. She sent a messenger hurriedly to the home of his brother, Richhard Cook. They hastened to his side, worked with him, but there was nothing that could be done. The master had called, his soul had passed on, changed as it were, in the twinkling of an eye. This is one more demonstration of the fact, that we know not what hour the Reaper will come and that we should be ready to answer the call. Mr. Cook spent his childhood and youth at the dear old fashioned home of his father, on the banks of the Clarion river. He was united in marriage with Louisa Huling, July 4, 1872. To this union were born eight children, six of whom are living. Albert and Mrs. Finnefrock of Kane, Robert of Cooksburg, Win of Youngstown and Ed of Newark, Ohio, Jesse of the National Guards of Penn'a., stationed at El Paso, Texas. Louisa, the wife, and two children, May and Martin, preceded the husband and father to the Home prepared for them. Mr. Cook was again married Dec. 1st, 1904 to Mrs. Mary Fiddler, who is left to mourn the loss. Mrs. Fiddler had six children, all of whom were very fond of Mr. Cook. He is also survived by the aged father and mother, two brothers, Richard and A. C., and one sister, Mrs. McBeth, nine grand children and one great grandchild. Mr. Cook united with the M. E church about 40 years ago. He was a dutitul son, a loving Husband and kind father, as well as a friend of all who new him. He has always lived in this community and needs no eulogy, for actions speak louder than words. As he passed through this life, he met all trials with marked patience, always looking on the bright side. His cheerful smile has placed a flower in the life path of many friends, who mourn his departure for the great beyond. on October 5, 1916.²

     Harriette Hulings was buried at Redclyffe Methodist Cemetery, Redclyffe, Forest Co., Pennsylvania.³ She was born in September, 1845 at Pennsylvania.⁵ As of circa 1867,her married name was Hall.⁵ She married Joseph Hall circa 1867.^1,6,5 Harriette Hulings died on March 12, 1915 at Buncombe Co., North Carolina, at age 69; Her gravestone has a death year of 1913.^7,3

     Joseph Hall JOSEPH HALL, farmer and lumberman, P. O. Redclyffe, was born in Butler county, Penn., May 23, 1845, a son of Cornelius and Susan (Slater) Hall, former of whom was born in Crawford county, Penn., of Prussian and French parentage, latter being a native of Clarion county, same State. They were farmers by occupation, and prominent members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Cornelius Hall was a Democrat in politics, and filled various township offices; he died in Butler county, Penn., in 1874; his widow yet survives. Their family consisted of thirteen children, twelve of whom are still living: John H. (in Clarion county), Joseph, Samuel J. (in Oklahoma). Susan (wife of August P. VonSlyke, in Wisconsin), Jerry M., Cornelius W. (in Redclyffe), Nancy A. (wife of John Stevenson, in Butler county), Mary J. (wife of Lewis Stevenson, also in Butler county), Thomas A. (in St. Louis), Melinda (wife of Henry Young, in Redclyffe), Melvin A. and William C. (also in Redclyffe). Joseph Hall was reared and educated in Butler county, Penn., and has been principally engaged in lumbering in Clarion, Elk and Forest counties, settling in Barnett township, this county, in 1866. He married, in 1807, Miss Harriet, daughter of Robert Huling, and they have had seven children: Sarah O. (Mrs. J. B. Work, in Jenks township), Cora A. (Mrs. E. L. Sutton, in Redclyffe), Lewis R., Mary E., Matilda S., Alice (deceased) and Hattie. Mr. Hall in politics is a Republican. He has been auditor, and is now school director of the township. He has been steward and exhorter in the United Brethren Church.³ He was buried at Redclyffe Methodist Cemetery, Redclyffe, Forest Co., Pennsylvania.⁵ He was born on May 23, 1845 at Butler Co., Pennsylvania; His death certificate has a birth date of May 25, 1845.^3,4 He married Harriette Hulings, daughter of Robert Hulings and Mary "Polly" Mays, circa 1867.^1,3,2 Joseph Hall died on October 22, 1908 at Barnett Township, Forest Co., Pennsylvania, at age 63.⁴
