Along with her husband, she is survived by two sons, Raymond Bott of Urbana, Donald Bott of Paxton and half-sister, Dorothy Stewart of Greenup, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Madonna. Gloria spent her childhood in the Casey area graduating from Casey High School and attended Eastern Illinois University for two years. After she married John, they lived in St. Louis, Missouri where he was an U. S. Air Force recruiter and moved to various towns during his career. They came to Paxton in 1977 where she was a checker at the Paxton IGA and retired after 25 years. Private family funeral services will be held with burial in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements. John was born April 17, 1938 in Park Falls, Wisconsin the son of Comello Candido and Blanch Bourdages Bott. He married Gloria Payne June 20, 1965 in Jasper County. She preceded him in death February 21, 2019. He is survived by two sons, Raymond Bott of Urbana, Donald Bott of Paxton; one sister, Teresa (Rodney) Bakkala of Kenosha, Wisconsin; one brother, Michael Bott of Kenosha, Wisconsin and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. John graduated from J. E. Murphy High School, Hurley, Wisconsin. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring in 1981 as a TSGT. During that time, he had been in Vietnam, Iran and Guam. He and his family lived in various cities while in the Air Force and moved to Paxton in 1977. After his retirement he managed ECC, Paxton for a number of years until their closure and then worked at Paxton Variety Liquors. He was a member of the Paxton American Legion Prairie Post 150, Paxton VFW Post 4214, a former Boy Scout Leader and a former member and past president of the Paxton Chamber of Commerce. He is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Kathleen Lamb Young and eight siblings. Mr. Young is survived by sons Ralph Lee Young (wife Ann) and Donald William Young (wife Susan); a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a brother Darwin Javins Young. Mr. Young retired from Fairfax County as Chief Electrical Inspector and from the City of Manassas, VA, where he served as Chief Electrical Inspector. He also taught electrical codes at Northern Virginia Community College for several years. He was presented in the fall of 1974 the A. Health Onthank Award for Merit for 1973 for his accomplishments of outstanding worth in advancing and improving public service in the Fairfax County Government. He was a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), and the Southern Section, IAEI, in which he served as secretary-treasurer. He was also secretary of the Virginia Chapter since 1967. In 1974 Mr. Young was awarded the first presentation of the “Inspector of the Year” given by the Virginia Chapter of IAEI for outstanding and superb contributions toward furthering the aims and standards of electrical responsibility and excellence. His contributions in the refinement of safety features for electrical appliances and household wiring earned him the national respect and recognition from Underwriters Laboratories and builders and developers. In September 1974 the State of Virginia adopted a statewide uniform building Code in which Mr. Young personally wrote the major provisions of the electrical chapter of this Code of Fairfax County, VA. State officials were so impressed by this work they referred other jurisdictions to Fairfax as the Model Code. She attended Kent State University in Ohio. In 1954 she married former John Marshall alum Gordon Cochrane in Cleveland and started a family. The couple divorced in 1974. During this time, she was PTA President, helped install a school library, and received the PTA Honorary Life-Time Membership Award for Service from Sandburg Elementary School, where she was also the school General Secretary. In 1974 she met James Harvey Lamb at a square-dance class. They married in 1975 and were blessed with a blended family. Jim preceded her in death in 2011. Shirley was an active volunteer at Clairemont Lutheran Church, serving as Treasurer and Secretary for the Women's group, a leader in the Sandwich Ministry, and publishing the church newsletter for many years. She was a whiz on the computer and skilled at crafts. She had a sharp mind, loved musicals, crossword puzzles, and being organized. Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their spouses.Shirley is survived by her children Dale Kelly-Cochrane (Sue), Gregg Cochrane (Brandy); stepchildren James H Lamb Jr (Kathy), Elaine Lamb, Duane Lamb (Shyla), Steven Lamb; grandchildren Chris Kelly-Cochrane (Amanda), Kerry Perez; step-grandchildren Chris Lamb (Courtney), Ryan Lamb, Danielle Lamb-Davis, Alex Lamb, Matthew Lamb; great-grandchild Johnny Kelly-Cochrane and great-grand-stepchildren Emerson Davis, Truex Davis and Hunter Lamb.
