Richard Byron "Dickie" Helm DEATH CAR DRIVER STILL IS IN HIDING - There is no further clue to the identity of the automobile driver who ran down eight-year-old Dickie Helm on Sunday evening and left him lying dead in the street. The authorities half hoped that the man's conscience would drive him out from cover, but nothing of the kind has occurred. There is one clue on which the police are working, but whether this will develop into anything tangible remains to be seen, if apprehended, he will be prosecuted for manslaughter. The Inquest will be conducted at 7:30 o'clock this evening at the Renner funeral home, and up to a late hour this afternoon, coroner Strode had no new information. Mrs. Opal Helm, the widowed mother of Dickie, is in a serious condition from shock and grief, at her home, 208 East Oregon Street, near where the boy was killed while coasting. Last night her prostration became so acute that the services of a physician were necessary. Funeral services for Dickie Helm who was instantly killed Sunday night while coasting in the street will be held at the Renner funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Fred Baldus, pastor of the first Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be made at the Woodlawn Cemetery.6 He was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1803 N. Coler Avenue, Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois.3,6 He was born on October 28, 1916 at Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois.2 He died on January 25, 1925 at Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, at age 8.4 He Urbana, Jan. 26. - An automobile crushed out the life of Dickie Helm, aged 8, as he was coasting on his sled in the 200 block on East Oregon street, just east of his home, shortly after 6 o'clock last night, and sped onward. Leaving the crumpled body lying in the street, the heartless driver dashed at maximum speed eastward and disappeared in the darkness. The boy was dead, his neck being broken, when M. E. Webber, 204 South Lynn street, found him, after benig directed to the scene by automobilists who had witnessed the accident from a point a block distant. The body of Dickie was carried into the home of his widowed mother, Mrs. Opal Helm, 108 East Oregon street, and the scene that followed was enough to daunt the stoutest heart. The mother was prostrated. on January 27, 1925.4
