"Joe" Johnson; a son and daughter-in-law, Roy Lee and Cindy Johnson of Huntington; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky Lynn and David Lee Clark of Ona; two sisters, Versie Smith of Winfield and Betty Jean and Bernard Herron of Akron, Ohio; six grandchildren, Robert Lee Johnson, Virginia Ann Willard, James Michael Johnson, Kara Sharee Johnson, Donna Lynn Stollkings and Douglas Lee Clark; 10 great-grandchildren; and an adopted granddaughter through Church In The Valley, Amanda Warner. Clutters Harris of South Point, Ohio; a sister, Norma Smith of Prosperity; seven grandchildren, Jeff Hall, Charles Bennett, Scott Hall, Tim Clutters, Jill Blake, Stacey and Kevin Clutters; seven great-grandchildren, Leigh Ann, Thomas, Jessica, Brittnii, Lindsey, Drayton, and Haleigh; and three great-great-grandchildren, Brett, Jared, and Skye. Louella is also survived by her special caregiver, Janie Kincaid. The family would like to send special thanks to Hospice of Beckley. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on December 16, 2007.2

On May 21, 1932, in Royalton, KY, she married Wishard A. Salyer, who preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Ann. She (Ma) will be missed and mourned by her loving family, Joan Freeman (Jon) Fricker of North Liberty, IN; son, Walter Salyer of Hot Springs, AR; five grandchildren, Rick (Jodi) Salyer, Cathy (Brad) Willett, Lori (Philip) Gargano, Shawn (Steve) Toepp and Sherrill Fricker; 14 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Salyer, Shawn and Scott Willett, Kara Gargano, Kelsey (Todd) Jarvis and Nathan Gargano, Ruby, John, Anna and Lisa Gargano, Tony (Jaci) and Natasha Trozzolo, and Billy Fricker; and six great-great-grandchildren, Lily, Mazelee, Daitin, Dylan, Bleydn and Beckon. Mrs. Salyer moved from Kentucky to Knox, IN, in 1941. She moved to Teegarden in 1945 and remained an area resident. She and her husband were the owners/operators of Salyer's Grocery in Teegarden. After the grocery store closed, she opened the House of Quilting and taught many the craft that she so loved. Ruby's gifted hands made masterful quilts from scraps of materials, made bountiful plants from fledgling seedlings, and mouth-watering treats from simple dough. Her hands were always in service to the Lord. She will long be remembered for her giving spirit and her strong determination to right wrongs of government and municipalities. Ruby hosted quilt shows helping to put Teegarden on the map. Her family, neighbors and friends will long remember the homemade glazed donuts she passed out for Halloween treats, and her gifts of produce of home canned goods from her garden. The majestic flowers that adorned her property turned everyone's head as they passed by, and were appreciated by the birds and bees. Anyone stopping by were given a start or seeds for their gardens. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. today, February 17, 2011, in the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, 69531 Pine Road, North Liberty. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Morris Cemetery, Walkerton, IN. on February 17, 2011.5
