"Kay" Elmore Givens, 63, of St. Albans, formerly of Elkview, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. She fought breast cancer in 2000; squamous cell cancer of the tonsils and in 2009-2010, cancer of non-descriptive origin of the liver. She was the owner of Gary's Lock Service, St. Albans, and a 25-year member of Dunbar Church of God. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Major and Helen Elmore, and sisters, Pat "Norlene" Gardner and Vicki Lynn Elmore. Surviving are her husband Gerald L. "Gary" Givens of St. Albans; son, Gary Wayne Pauley II of Nashville, Tenn; mother-in-law, Barbara Givens of St. Albans; and sisters, Carol Coffman and her husband, Charlie, of Florida, Mary Baldwin and her husband, Clint, Linda Green and her husband, John, and Bobbie Elswick, all of Elkview. She had lots of nieces and nephews whom she loved to dote upon with love. They will all miss her deeply. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry McCallister officiating. Burial will be in Elmore Family Cemetery, Dutch Ridge. on April 30, 2010.³

     Bobbie Lea Elmore Bobbie Lea Elswick, 63, of Elkview passed away to be with the Lord after a long battle on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lee Elswick of Elkview; parents, Major and Helen Elmore of Elkview; sisters Patricia Norlene Gardner of Atlanta, Ga. and Karen Ann Givens of St. Albans. Bobbie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law , Philip and Jami Cash of Elkview; son, Jeremy M. Elswick of Oh; grandchildren Justin Cash of Charleston and Hannah Cash of Elkview; great grand-child, Kaiden Cash of Charleston; sisters, Linda (John) Green, Mary (Clint) Baldwin of Elkview, and Carol (Charlie) Coffman of Melbourne, Fl. and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many cherished friends. She will be truly missed by all who loved and knew her. She would light up a room with her smile and love. Service will be 11:00 am Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Larry McCallister officiating.      Michael Lee Elswick Michael Lee "Cuz" Elswick, 56, of Elkview went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 5, 2010 after a terrible mining accident. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lee and Willidean Elswick of Warton. Michael was an employee of Massey Energy, dedicated coal miner of 36 years. He was a member of the Dunbar First Church of God and a very dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend to all he met. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Bobbie Elmore Elswick, son Jeremy Elswick of Elkview, daughter Jami Cash and husband Philip of Elkview, grandchildren Justin and Hannah Cash of Elkview, sister Pam Miller of Warton, brothers Larry Elswick of Charleston, Steven Elswick of Warton.      Conrad Delbert Shaffer married Evelyn Elizabeth Elmore, daughter of George Lewis Elmore and Myrtle Katherine "Myrtie" Elmore.² Conrad Delbert Shaffer was born on February 4, 1917 at Middle Fork, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.³ He died on July 1, 2002 at Buckhannon, Upshur Co., West Virginia, at age 85.² He Conrad Delbert Shaffer, 85, of Hurricane, formerly of Elkview, died July 1, 2002, in a Private Care Home in Buckhannon after a long illness. He was a retired boiler operator from Union Carbide, South Charleston plant and a graduate of Elkview High School. He was a member of Pinch Ridge Memorial Church. Surviving; wife, Evelyn Elmore Shaffer; son, Harrison Shaffer and wife Sandy of Roane County; daughters, Mildred Graves of Glenville, Ga. and Wanda Taylor and husband Ray of Teays Valley; sister, Audrey Copen Harvey, of Buckhannon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grand- children; four great-great-grandchildren. on July 4, 2002.²
