Alice Pearl Altice Alice Pearl Wirt, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 27, 2017 in Houston, Texas. She is with the Lord and so shall she ever be with the Lord. She was at peace and surrounded by her family and close friends as she left this world and was received into Heaven. A life well-lived has now received her reward. Alice is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Alta and Herbert Altice, her brother Wallace Altice and her sister Barbara Witt. Alice is survived by her loving husband and partner of 57 years, Bob, her sons Scott, Gary and Jason. Grandchildren Alec, Alyssa, Cole, Aaron, Makayla, Trinity, Jaidyn and Meghan, and her sister Becky Kelley of Virginia. Alice was born in Salem, Virginia on May 10, 1942. She met the love of her life, Bob, when she was 14 years old and they were married on August 6, 1960. Alice and Bob spent the first 21 years of their marriage in Fairborn, Ohio where Bob was stationed in the Air Force and where they started a family and raised their sons. The family moved to League City, Texas in the summer of 1980. Alice worked at Bay Area Christian School for 5 years as a teacher's aide and 18 years at Clear Creek ISD in the Food Service Department from which she retired in 2004. Alice built her home with love, acceptance, patience and affection and was warm and welcoming to friends and strangers alike. She was a wonderful cook and loved to cook for her family and friends and engaging in meaningful conversation around the table. Christmas was Alice?s favorite time of year and she loved putting smiles on the faces of her family with the many surprises she had for them during that time. She had a way of making each person feel special and loved and appreciated. And even though she thoroughly enjoyed the giving of gifts at Christmas time she always made sure that everyone close to her understood the true meaning of Christmas. She always pointed them to Jesus. Alice was strong in her Christian faith and loved her Lord with all her heart. She was a faithful member of Sagemont Church since 1992 where she taught Sunday school for many years. To the very end Alice exuded great concern for the souls of others with some of her last whispered words, "Bring them to Jesus". Alice was a counselor at the crisis Pregnancy Center for many years. We as her family look forward to a joyful reunion someday with our wife, mother, grandmother. What a joyous reunion that will be. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.3 She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8701 Almeda-Genoa, Houston, Harris Co., Texas.3 She was born on May 10, 1942 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,6 As of August 6, 1960,her married name was Wirt.5 She married Bobby Ray Wirt on August 6, 1960 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,3,4,7,5 Alice Pearl Altice died on November 27, 2017 at Houston, Harris Co., Texas, at age 75.3

He is at peace and celebrating with his wife who preceded him in death and has been waiting for him in Heaven. A life well lived has now received his reward. Bob is preceded in death by his mom and dad Roy and Annie Wirt, his wife Alice, and his sister Marian. Bob is survived by his three sons: Scott, Gary, and Jason. Grandchildren: Alec, Alyssa, Cole, Aaron, Makayla, Trinity, Jaidyn, and Meghan. Siblings: Bill, Roy, Donald, Rose, and Carole. Bob was born in Salem, Virginia on April 11, 1939. He met the love of his life, Alice Pearl Altice, when he was 17 years old, and they were married on August 6, 1960. Bob and Alice spent the first 21 years of their marriage in Fairborn, Ohio where Bob was stationed in the Air Force. This is where they started their family and began raising their sons. The family moved to League City, Texas in the summer of 1980 after Bob retired from the Air Force at the rank of Master Sergeant. Bob then started his second career at NASA where he worked for 24 years and retired from Lockheed in 2004 after 24 years. Bob built a home rooted and founded in the Word of God and in the importance of serving our Lord. Not a day went by without some reference or instruction on our faith or service to the Lord. Bob was a patriot who loved his country and instilled in his sons a love of country and respect for its values and laws. He raised his sons to work hard and to always give life your all. When his sons were playing sports, no one's voice was louder than Bob's as he bellowed his encouragement and voiced his pride in our endeavors from the sidelines or bleachers. Bob loved his church, Sagemont Church, and his entire church family. He served for many years as a bus captain in the Bus Ministry, where he brought countless children to a knowledge of the saving grace of Christ. Bob also served as an usher where his warm, bright smile greeted many people and where all felt instantly welcome, loved, and accepted. Bob never met a stranger and treated everyone with love, care, and concern. Bob lived an exemplary Christian life here on earth. It is a joy and a relief for his family that when he closed his eyes in death, he instantly opened them in Heaven, his eternal home. To his last day Bob was sharing his faith with his caregivers and passersby. Bob was a huge supporter of the Center for Pregnancy in Friendswood, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to this organization in Bob's name. We as a family look forward to a joyful reunion someday with our dad, Papa, and brother. What a joyous reunion that will be. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.1 He was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8701 Almeda-Genoa, Houston, Harris Co., Texas.1 He was born on April 11, 1939 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,3 He married Alice Pearl Altice, daughter of Charlie Herbert Altice and Alta Sadie Witt, on August 6, 1960 at Roanoke, Virginia.4,5,1,6,2 Bobby Ray Wirt died on July 8, 2020 at Webster, Harris Co., Texas, at age 81.1
