     Gay Nell O'Quinn Gay Nell O'Quinn Henry, age 65, passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents James H. O'Quinn, Zettie Mullins O'Quinn, and her husband, Michael L. Henry. Although a native of Clintwood, Virginia, she lived the majority of her life in Roanoke. Gay Nell was an energetic, generous, loving, spirited woman who worked tirelessly to care for those she loved. For many years, she was a caregiver for her mother and her husband. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she provided 25 years of service to South Roanoke Nursing Home. Many homeless cats were rescued, adopted, and loved by Gay Nell. Possessing a wonderful sense of humor, Gay Nell was a keen observer of human nature and a talented story teller. Her everyday experiences became hilarious anecdotes for the listener. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: entertaining family and friends, sitting in the sunshine, cooking a delicious meal, walking along the seashore, and reading a good book with her cat curled up on her lap. Those left to cherish her memory include: one sister, Glenda Fulbright and husband Jim, of Johnson City, TN; one brother, Dennis O'Quinn and wife Ruth of Clintwood, VA; sister-in-law Rosemary Thomas and husband Ray of Buchanan, VA, and several nieces and nephews. Special cousins include: Prentice Mullins, Gerald and Joyce Ann Shortt, Roger and Joyce O'Quinn, and Eveleen Shortt. Dear friends include: Brenda and Douglas Swindall, Vella and Carroll Bowyer, Carol and Charles Caston, Ruth and Tom Casey, Mary and David Slusher, Neil and Julie Roberson, many special friends at South Roanoke Nursing Home, and kind neighbors Linda and Benny Gibson, and Derwin Hall. The family extends special thanks to Mr. Butch Carter, the compassionate staff of South Roanoke Nursing Home, and Blue Ridge Cancer Care physicians and staff.³ She was born on October 9, 1948 at Dickenson Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of September 4, 1976,her married name was Henry.¹ She married Michael Leroy Henry, son of Dewey William Henry and Hazel Irene Manning, on September 4, 1976 at Roanoke, Virginia.^4,1,3 Gay Nell O'Quinn died on April 2, 2014 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 65.^3,5

     Jane Carol Manning was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.⁵ Her Social Security Number was 229-88-4835.⁶ She was born on July 29, 1955 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,6,2 As of May 7, 1983,her married name was Hogge.⁷ She married Herbert Stanley Hogge on May 7, 1983 at Newport News, Virginia.^7,3,4 Jane Carol Manning died on January 5, 2012 at Virginia Beach, Virginia, at age 56.^8,4,6 She Jane M. Hogge, 56, passed away January 5, 2012 peacefully in her sleep at her home. A native of Roanoke, Va., she was a loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt. She was a devoted NASA employee for over 30 years. She was in the Speaker Hall of Fame for being speaker of the year 3 years in a row for her dedication to educating youth on the space program. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, needlework and collecting antiques. She was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints and finally saw them win a Super Bowl. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Stanley Hogge, her parents, James C. and Henrietta G. Manning, her brother, Gary Manning and wife Maria, her sister, Ruth Ann Hannah and husband Therrell, nieces and nephews, Raymond, Huston, Sara, James, Katherine and Emily, special friends, Rick and Lynette Swanson and was very fond of her extended family and NASA family.      Herbert Stanley Hogge was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.⁵ He was born on August 13, 1952 at Norfolk, Virginia.^1,3 He married Jane Carol Manning, daughter of James Carroll Manning and Henrietta Ruth Gary, on May 7, 1983 at Newport News, Virginia.^6,7,2 Herbert Stanley Hogge died on October 19, 2015 at Virginia Beach, Virginia, at age 63.⁴ He Herbert Stanley Hogge, 63, of Virginia Beach, passed away, Monday, October 19, 2015. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents Herbert "Piggy" and Thelma C. Hogge; step-father, George Miller; and his wife of 29 years Jane Hogge. He is survived by, a special aunt Margurite Hogge; cousins, Gloria, Rosemary, Dallas "Petey", Donald, Frances, and Susan; parents-in-law, James & Henrietta Manning; brother-in-law and wife, Gary & Maria Manning; sister-in-law and husband, Ruth Ann & Therrell Hannah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Stanley retired from NASA Langley and was a member of the Virginia Beach Christian Church and was a past Master of the Lynnhaven 220 Masonic Lodge, as well as a District Deputy Grand Master of the 56th Masonic District. Stanley also was a member of the Khedive Shriners, as well as a past president of the Virginia Beach Shrine Club. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of 4 Main at Friendship Health & Rehab for the care that they gave to Herbert. on October 22, 2015.⁴
