     Morris Edward Fair was buried at Chandler Cemetery, Calhoun, Gordon Co., Georgia.5,4 He Mr. Morris Edward Fair, 90 of Calhoun, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on May 4, 1926, son of the late Asberry and Lena Knight Fair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Greeson Fair in 1999; his son, Edward Fair, Sr. in 2006; and a brother, Raymond Fair. Mr. Fair was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army from 1944 until 1946, and was retired from the Army National Guard after 30 years. Survivors include his son, Rocky Fair and Karen Sewell of Calhoun; his daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Edmond Holland of Calhoun, and Angelea and Mike Lance of Dalton; and a sister-in-law, Annelle Fair. Eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive. Services to honor the life of Mr. Morris Edward Fair will be held Thursday, August 25th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Music will be arranged by Faye Bentley. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Jimmy Cantrell, Steve Cantrell, Mike Cantrell, Ronald Cantrell, Streater Duncan, Rocky Fair, Branson Fair, and Trey Fair. The Fair family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 24th from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.4 He married Frances Blanche Greeson.3,4 Morris Edward Fair was born on May 4, 1926 at Georgia.6,5,4 He died on August 22, 2016 at Calhoun, Gordon Co., Georgia, at age 90.4

He was born in Gordon County on April 22, 1928, son of the late Berry and Lena Knight Fair. He had spent his entire life in Gordon County and was a member of Russell Hill Baptist Church and helped to build the present church. He was a United States Army veteran and was a mechanic for Galey & Lord for 43 years. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Annelle Mills Fair; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kayanne and Tony Coggins and Candy and Randy Wheat, all of Resaca; a brother, Morris Fair of Calhoun; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alton and Vivian Mills and Austin and June Mills; and grandchildren, Mindy Coggins, Colter Wheat, and Colby Wheat. Funeral was Thursday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. from Russell Hill Baptist Church, with Joe Hall and Tony Coggins officiating. Interment followed in Chandler Cemetery, with Freddy Shugart in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers included Terry Mills, A.J. Mills, Jamie Mills, Eddie Fair Sr., Eddie Fair Jr., and Rocky Fair. Honorary pallbearers included the “Hardee Seniors” and the men of Russell Hill Baptist Church. Music was arranged by Betty Fair and Pat Hall. Thomas Funeral Home of Calhoun was in charge of arrangements. on November 5, 2004.2

He was born on Sept. 6, 1947, son of Morris E. Fair and the late Blanche Greeson Fair. He was owner and operator of Fair’s Auto Service and Repair. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran attached to the 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam as a medical corpsman. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Fleet Marina Force Combat Insignia, Bronze Star with Combat “V,” and Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47 and a member of the VFW, serving as commander during 1993-1994 and 1998-2002. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1972, he purchased the Gulf Station on South Wall Street in Calhoun at the age of 22. He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Greeson Fair, and grandparents, Asberry and Lenor Fair and Lee and Lizzie Greeson. Survivors include his son, Edward Lee Fair Jr. and his wife, Tina, of Resaca; his daughter, Christa Lee Talley, of Calhoun; father, Morris E. Fair of Calhoun; a brother, Rocky Fair of Calhoun; two sisters, Sandra Holland of Calhoun and Angelea Fair Lance of Dalton; four grandchildren, Branson Coker, Edward Lee ”Trey” Fair III of Resaca, and Slade and Zoey Talley of Calhoun; uncles, Hansell Greeson and Billy Joe Greeson, both of Calhoun; an aunt, Margaret Cantrell of Calhoun; and cousins and other relatives. Funeral Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. at Calhoun First Baptist Church, with Dr. Bert Vaughn and the Rev. Darris Baker officiating. Interment in Chandler Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Naylor conducting the graveside service with military honors following. Music arranged by the Rev. Darris Baker and Randy Seabolt. Pallbearers Jimmy Cantrell, Mike Cantrell, Steve Cantrell, Ronnie Walden, Lamar Hicks, Emory McEntyre, Greg Greeson, Bobby Greeson, and Renia Williams.
