During the war, she worked at the canning factory in Baltimore. She enjoyed tending to her rose garden, bowling, crocheting, doing word search puzzles and watching old westerns on TV. She is survived by her five children: Helen L. Ferguson and husband James, of Kent; Robert G. Smith and wife Laura, of Indiana; William J. Smith and wife Donna, of Chambersville; Donald L. Smith and wife Jenny, of Pittsburgh; and David A. Smith and wife Vicki, of Homer City; her daughter-in-law, Charlotte Smith, of Frenchville; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; eight step great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene H. Smith; her son, Eugene Smith; four brothers: Leroy “Denni”, Frederick, Joseph and Raymond Aughenbaugh; and two sisters: Betty Renner and Ruth Welsh. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc, Indiana. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Phillip Mack officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Green. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. on April 10, 2008.1

Since his retirement, he still left home early everyday to meet the world and visit friends. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette; his parents, Hubert and Mary Bostic; brother, Howard; and sister, Glada Bonham. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Randy) Hill and Pam (Dave) Graham; grandchildren, Mike (fiancee, Lindsey) Hill, Christopher (Bridget) May, Lynnette Nunley, and Christy (Jeremy) Jeffers; and great-granddaughter, Emma Nunley. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Green officiating. Burial service will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.bartlettburdettecox.com.
