He was a retired coal miner. Survivors include his wife, Esther; four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Clay and Mrs. Paul Prince, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Maxine Bradford of Aliquippa. Pa., and Mrs. John Bradford of Sophia; two sons, Donald and Herl, both of Cleveland; five sisters, Mrs. Walter Goss of Fayetteville, Mrs. Marbra Fowler and Mrs. Carl Wallace, both of, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Estelle Meyers of Chula Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Michael Feeney of Toledo, Ohio, and 14 grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Rebecca Chapel Methodist Church at Rock Creek with Rev. Phillip King in charge. Burial will be in the Wills Cemetery at Rock Creek. The body will remain at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Whitsville and will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. on February 14, 1967.5

She was the daughter of the late Denny and Esther Wills Lafferty. Born October 26, 1932 in Rock Creek, West Virginia. Corena was an avid bowler for over 40 years. She won numerous individual and team tournament events, making many friends along the way. She retired from Heartland Nursing Home in Beckley, where she worked for 20 years as the midnight shift nursing supervisor. During this time, she trained many employees and continually demanded the best of them. For the past two and a half years, she resided at The Inn at The Villages of Greystone in Beaver where along with her sidekick, Sugar, she continued this work. Pushing and testing each caregiver to their limits with her wit and wile but as she did with her employees, wormed her way into their hearts. She was cared for with much love and respect by each member of the staff. Corena was known for her spunk, humor, frankness and generosity to her family, close friends and neighbors. She gave each of us to tell and a memory to keep. She will be missed. In addition to her parents, she is now reunited with her loving husband, John Bradford; brothers, Herl and Donald Lafferty; sister, Gloria Lafferty Clay, all from Cleveland, Oh. Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Janie Bradford Webber and husband Tracy of Beckley and Judy Bradford Lilly of Beckley; son, John Bradford of Glen Daniel; sisters, Maxine Lafferty Sevin of PA and Glenna Lafferty Price of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, James Rowe and wife Jennifer of Nashua, NH, Julie Rowe Gunnoe of Beckley, Shawn Bradford of Charleston, J.R. Bradford and wife Tina of Glen Daniel, Joshua Lilly of Cool Ridge, Margaret Webber Pellino and husband Joe of Atlanta and Gabriel Webber of Atlanta; seven great grandchildren; two special childhood and lifelong friends, Bonnie Brock Clay of Saxon, WV and Mona Lee Wakeland of Grove City, Oh. Born Feb. 4, 1924, in Economy, Pa., a son of the late William and Martha (Benninger) Sevin, he served in the United States Army during World War II and was also a staff sergeant in the Air Force. He retired from LTV in Aliquippa. Being a golfer he enjoyed his part-time job at Marada Golf Course in Clinton, Pa. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8805 in Hopewell. He attended the Free Methodist Church in Hookstown and was a member of the South Side Senior Citizens for many years. He bowled in many different leagues in the valley. He was very proud of his yard and garden. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Irvin, Stan, Raymond, and Albert Sevin; six sisters, Hazel Ross, Vera Smith, Elenora Miller, Thelma Robinson, Isabelle Young and Roberta Sevin. He is survived by his wife, Maxine (Lafferty) Sevin, at home; four children, Stan and Mary Sevin, Amston, Ct; Mike and Debbie Bradford, Hookstown; Richard and Peggy Bradford, Salesville, and Beverly Joan Will, Hookstown. He was very proud of his 12 grandchildren, 19-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by a sister, Virginia Mercer, Chester; three sisters-in-law, Laura Sevin, Gibsonia, Pa; Corena Bradford, Sophia, W.Va., and Glenna Price, Cleveland, Ohio. Also by many nieces and nephews and two cousins from Ambridge, Pa; two brothers-in-law Donald Lafferty and Herl Dean Lafferty and a sister-in-law, Gloria Clay. He also leaves behind two canines, Ruly and Baby. Family and friends will be received Monday, July 30, 2007, from 5 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7:30 p.m. in the NEWELL CHAPEL of the NIXON FUNERAL HOME. The Rev. Wilmer Oliszewski and Richard Marsolf will officiate. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord military services. The family requests no flowers. on July 29, 2007.1
