Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, September 14 at Glade Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Lotz Vinton Chapel. on September 12, 1998.1

He is survived by step-children, Sandra Hughes & husband Mike and Rhonda Zimmerman & husband Tommy; brother & sister-in-law, Bobby Paxton & wife Peggy; brother, Glenn Paxton; sisters, Leonna Filkins and Helen Coggsdale; sister-in-law, Betty Paxton; brother-in-law Larry Rex Hale; and numerous nieces, nephews, & friends. Interment will follow at Huffman Memorial Park with Military Rites performed by VFW Post #4491.9 He was born on December 22, 1932 at Virginia.5,12 He died on February 19, 2019 at Virginia at age 86.9
