She was a longtime member of Penn Forest Church of God. She also enjoyed working for many years in the cafeteria at Roanoke Electric Steel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ellie Baugh and by one sister, Joyce Snyder. Surviving is her husband, Norman Poff; one son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Joyce Poff; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Frank Wilkins; a brother, Clinton Baugh and wife Susie; her sister, Shelia Broderick and husband Ron; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving relatives also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2004 at Oakey's South Chapel with burial to follow in Rest Vale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel, 989-3131. on December 26, 2004.²

     Donald Lynn "Don" Maxwell was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.² His Social Security Number was 229-82-7637.⁵ He was born on January 29, 1954 at West Virginia.^5,3 He married Sherry Elaine Basham, daughter of Edsel Ernest Basham and Mary Elizabeth Reed, on October 18, 1975 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2,6,3 Donald Lynn "Don" Maxwell died on May 13, 2002 at Charlottesville, Virginia, at age 48.^5,2,4 He MAXWELL, Donald L., "Don", 48, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 13, 2002 after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. He was preceded in death by his father, James "Ray" Maxwell; and a brother, Scott Maxwell. Don served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a 23 year employee of Blue Ridge Beverage Company. He was an active member of First Evangelical Methodist Church in Salem and for many years, coached for the Salem Parks and Recreation Department. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Sherry Basham Maxwell; children, Jennifer E. Maxwell, Radford, Jonathan L. Maxwell, Joshua A. Maxwell, both of the home; mother, Ruby E. Maxwell, Salem; brothers, Jim Maxwell and wife, Gail, Fincastle, Charlie Maxwell and wife, Gina, Salem, Keith Maxwell and wife, Robin, Elliston; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edsel and Mary Basham, Lebanon, Va; brothers-in-law, Terry Basham and wife, Katherine, Salem, Tim Basham and wife, Pat, Rosedale, Va; and a number of nieces and nephews. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. on May 15, 2002.²

     Her married name was Conner.¹ Catherine Unknown married Isaac Raymond Conner, son of Waller Cleveland Conner and Arminda Ellen "Minnie" Poff.¹ Catherine Unknown was born on October 15, 1929.²

     Walter Robert Thompson was buried at Restvale Cemetery, 7529 Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.^3,4 He Walter Robert Thompson, 85 of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Nellie Thompson; brother & sister-in-law, Roy & Betty Thompson; brother-in-law, Chuck Salmon; and father-in-law & mother-in-law, Rufus & Newassa Conner. Walter served in the United States Navy. He was a licensed pilot and flew many missions with the Civil Air Patrol. He was a member of Laurel Ridge Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Scruggs Thompson; step-sons, Brian (LeAnn) Scruggs, Joseph (Bethanie) Scruggs; son, Shaun (Tina) Thompson; step-grandchildren, Conner, Adam, and Julien Scruggs, and Ryan Watson-Triplett; sisters, Sue Thompson, Nancy Mason, and Ellen Salmon. Interment will follow in the Restvale Cemetery with Military Rites by the Floyd VFW Post 7854 and American Legion Post 127.⁴ He married Delores Faye Conner, daughter of Rufus Armor "Brown" Conner and Newassa Augustine "Peggy" Craighead.^1,2,4 Walter Robert Thompson was born on September 9, 1934 at Tazewell Co., Virginia.^3,5 He died on January 21, 2020 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 85.⁴

     Bertha L. Craft was buried at Montvale Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1075 Dewey Road, Montvale, Bedford Co., Virginia.¹ Her Social Security Number was 229-05-8829.⁷ Her married name was Holland.¹ She married Lindsay Edward Holland.^1,8 Bertha L. Craft was born on December 4, 1916 at Virginia.^2,7 She died on February 19, 2005 at Virginia at age 88.^1,7 She Bertha Craft Holland, 88, of Montvale, went home to meet the Lord Saturday, February 19, 2005. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and retired from the C & P Telephone Company of Alexandria with 36 years service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Susan Niday Craft, five sisters, three brothers and her husband of 52 years, Edward Holland. Surviving are a sister, Estelle C. Hackworth, Roanoke; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special and loving friend, Daniele DeSalles. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 with the Rev. Elmer Sellers officiating and burial in Montvale Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Walnut Grove Baptist Church or Montvale Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 982-2221. on February 21, 2005.¹
