He retired from the Lynchburg Foundry where he was an active Union member. He served in the Army and was a lifelong democrat. He served many years on the Electoral Board in Floyd and volunteered with RSVP. He loved spending time on the lake fishing with his family. He is survived by his son, Eric Goad; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Michael Duncan; grandchildren, Bethany Duncan and fiance, Michael Delp and Hunter Duncan; sisters, Norell (Pete) Mason, and Merleen Reese; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019. on March 1, 2019.3

Her husband Donald Neighbors and a brother Paul Wickham preceded her. Mrs. Neighbors attended Community Advent Christian Church for many years. She enjoyed singing and playing older gospel hymns and blue grass with her grandchildren and at family get togethers. A very loving and dear wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be forever missed by all. Left to cherish her memory are her son, David Peters and wife Karen; grandchildren, Wayne and Benjamin Peters; siblings, Sue Huffman, Mae Caudill and husband Alton, Pete Wickham and wife Deborah, and George Wickham and wife Maybelle. Along with many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday December 1, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor T. G. Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. on November 29, 2018.3

Vest, Check, Evelyn Shank; a brother-in-law, Ralph Light; her loving dog, Sherry; caregivers, Donna Prescott, Jennie Harris and Nellie Breeden and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Dr. Fred Austin, with burial in Sunset Cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Pilot United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home. There will be no evening visitation. Richardson-Horne Funeral Home is handling arrangements. on March 8, 1998.2
