     Reginald Douglas Conner Reginald Douglas Conner, 81, of Shawsville, VA was called home on June 9, 2024. He was born on September 8, 1942 to the late James Daniel and Pearl Camper Conner in southwestern Virginia. Reggie was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Conner and two sons, Terry Conner and Jason King. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Kathy Perdue Conner, and son Jeffery King of the home, daughter Amy Downing (David) of Chesapeake, VA as well as three grandsons, Cody Conner, Jonathan Downing, and Gabriel Downing. He is also survived by his sisters Juanita Gibson (Wayne) and Linda Byer (Wilbur) along with a sister-in-law, Judy East and a brother-in-law Robert Perdue (Jean). Reggie was a hardworking provider who enjoyed working with his hands. He made his living as a talented mechanic specializing in Volkswagens before retiring from First Team Auto in Roanoke. He was also a skilled craftsman creating furniture and decor in his home workshop for friends and family. Reggie was gifted in many trades and used his carpentry skills to improve his home and those of his children. He was an involved member of his community, volunteering as an EMT with the Shawsville Rescue Squad where he was made a lifetime member.
