Moran, 86, of Norfolk, Va., and formerly of Floyd County passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2009. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and country. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Flossie Moran; a son, Jimmy Moran; a daughter, Connie Congleton; a son, Bob Moran and wife, Jackie; and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Tim, Sean and Ryan. He was a veteran of World War II and spent 18 months overseas fighting in the South Pacific with Company A, 52nd. Combat Engineers. Visitation in Roanoke will be held at Oakey's South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave. Roanoke, Va. 24018, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2009. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2009, at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren. The Rev Maurice Wright will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Vale Cemetery, Floyd County. Military Honors by Floyd VFW Post #7854 and American Legion #127. The family requests that memorials be made to the COPD Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131. on October 13, 2009.7

     Flossie Claudine Nichols was buried at Restvale Cemetery, 7529 Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.10 She was born on March 21, 1930 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1,4 She married George Robert Moran, son of James Moses "Mose" Moran and Ora Alice "Allie" Conner, on October 16, 1948 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1,2,10 As of October 16, 1948,her married name was Moran. Flossie Claudine Nichols died on August 25, 2021 at Norfolk, Virginia, at age 91.10 She Flossie C. Moran, 91, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family. Her husband, George R. Moran, preceded her in death in 2009 after 61 years of marriage. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jimmy Moran; daughter, Connie M. Congleton; son, Robert Moran and wife, Jackie; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Sean, and Ryan; and two great-grandchildren, Roan and Quinn. Although she lived in Norfolk, Va., for 65 years she never forgot she was a country girl from Copper Hill, Va. She will be taken back to Floyd County for services and burial. The Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Restvale Cemetery in Floyd County, Va., with Pastor Greg Fleshman officiating. on August 29, 2021.10
