Mitch was born on Dec. 4, 1919, in Winding Gulf, W.Va., the son of William J. and Mary S. (Stump) Mitchell. He attended school in West Virginia and later served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He married Evelyn Reed on May 12, 1945, in Beckley, W.Va. She died on March 19, 1994. Mitch was the past owner of Mitchell's Body Shop of Orrville for many years. His son, Jeff, is the current owner/operator. Prior to owning his own body shop, Mitch had worked at the former Carl Howell Oldsmobile Dealership in Orrville. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, a past member of the former Orrville Moose Lodge and the Orrville American Legion. He enjoyed target practice, fishing and studying military history. Surviving are two sons, Dwight (Lyn) Mitchell of Columbus, and Jeffrey Mitchell of Orrville; two grandchildren, Susan (Doug) Vance of Columbus and Shawn Mitchell of Columbus; and a brother, Arnold "Sonny" (Irene) Mitchell of Beckley, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn R. (Reed) Mitchell, and two brothers, Frank and John "Cleo" Mitchell. on August 19, 2007.7

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Blizzard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.      Wenona Paulette Flint married William Franklin Mitchell, son of William Jackson "Billy" Mitchell and Susan Mary "Sue" Stump.3,1,2,4 Wenona Paulette Flint was buried at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, 16155 Midland Trail West, Crawley, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.5,2 Her married name was Mitchell.1 She was born on May 14, 1920 at Alderson, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.5,2 She died on April 1, 2011 at Rainelle, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia, at age 90.5,2 She RAINELLE — Wenona P. Flint Mitchell, 90, of Rainelle, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 1, 2011, in the Heartland of Rainelle Nursing facility following a long illness. Born on May 14, 1920, on Big Branch Road near Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Emery Elbert and Florence Elizabeth Gwinn Flint. Wenona worked in a variety of jobs including clerk in the uncle's store F.L. Flint's General Store; Townley's 5 and 10 cent Store; an office worker for the East Rainelle Credit Bureau; a short stint with the WV Water Service; but her best job was as a medical secretary for doctors Carl Curtis Jackson and Charles Ira Wall in the East Rainelle General Hospital. Deciding to further her education, she graduated from Jefferson School of Commerce in Charlottesville, Va. Being an active volunteer, she was a member of the Rainelle Jr. Woman's Club, the Rainelle Woman's Club; served as coordinator for monthly blood pressure screenings at the Rainelle Medical Center; served on the Board of Directors of the Rainelle Community Center, on elections boards and recycling projects. Wenona was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, John Page Post #4484 in Rainelle. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rainelle where she served as Director of Youth; Director of Nursery; served on the Board of Christian Education; was secretary of the general Sunday School; taught Mission School and Sunday school and served as a choir mother when her son was in the youth choir. She was a proud homeroom mother; a member of the band boosters; the PTA and was a den mother. She also worked as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Frank Mitchell; her only son, Gerald Frank Mitchell, in 2009; a still-born sister in 1927 and her sister Euela Mae Flint in 1995. Survivors include her daughter-in-law Karen Mitchell of West Farmington, Ohio, and one sister Virginia Maxine Flint Justice of Charleston. She also leaves behind extended family and a host of friends. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bob Scharnhorst officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville. on April 5, 2011.2

Survivors include his wife, Karen E. Mitchell of West Farmington, and his mother, Wenona Flint Mitchell of Rainelle, W.Va. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery. on December 18, 2009.3
