He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a special cousin and companion for life: Robert Smith and his wife Helen. He served in Hawaii, Korea, and Japan. A special thanks to the V.A. extended Care Unit and for the excellent and compassionate care he received. Especially to Dr. Robert Schammel, nurses: Lescia P. Winzler, Willie; Chaplain Carol Parks; Social Worker: Johnie David and Bonnie and all the other staff members. A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. on August 31, 2006.5

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother Myrtle Blair Toler, wives, Mary Margaret Mounts Toler and Ruth Eloise Kinder Toler, two sisters Virginia Eileen Chapman and Alma Jean Toler, one brother Carlos Toler, three grandchildren Kenny and Robert Chapman and Steve Browning, one great-great-grandchild Sabrina Browning, and one step-daughter Lucille Marcum. Elmer was a retired coal miner having worked last for Pittston Coal Company. He was a veteran of WW II and served with the U.S. Navy. Elmer was a wonderful family man who enjoyed life with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Elmer loved sports of all kinds and enjoyed being around his good friends. He will most certainly and sadly be missed. Those left to cherish his memory and to continue to honor his life include his wife Rosalie Bateman Toler of Stollings, four sons Teddy Ray (Wanda) Toler of Tennessee, Roy C. (Teresa) Toler of Delbarton, Marshall (Tracy) Toler of Mud River, and Terry Kinder of Lake, two daughters Virginia Lee (Delbert) Conley of Harts and Katherine (Larry) O'Bryan of Chapmanville, five step-daughters Denise (Danny) Perry of Stollings, Gracie (Kenny) Laws of Rita, Florence (Ray) Webb of Georgia, Barbara McCoy of Dingess, and Naomi McCoy of Lake, five step-sons Ray (Becky) Cooper, Winfield (Connie) Cooper, John (Juanita) Cooper, Walter Marcum, Jr. all of Madison Creek, and Sam Kinder of Atlanta, Georgia, 41 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends. (formerly of Lenore, WV.) passed away Saturday, October 21st, surrounded by family and loved ones after a brief battle with cancer. Wanda was a proud and faithful member of Bean Station Church of God. Everyone who knew her, knew her as a kind woman with a generous spirit. Wanda never met a stranger and her door was always open to anyone in need. Wanda was employed by Mingo Co. Board of Education before retiring to Tennessee. Born October 14th, 1958 to the late Quinn and Gladys Deskins, Wanda is preceded in death by her husbands Eddie York and Teddy Toler, brother Quinn Deskins, Jr., and two infant siblings. Wanda is survived by siblings Ethel Blevins, Mary Leide, Tee Deskins, Midge Arends, Russell Deskins, and Irene Mitura. She is also survived by her children: Tabby (Joey) Tackett of Chattaroy, WV, John York of Reynoldsburg, OH, Justin (Brenda) McCloud of Flowery Branch, GA, and Rev. Ed (Kristin) York of Bean Station, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren who were the light of her life: Morgan (Joe) Tackett-Crowe, Alexis McDonald, Faith York, Abigail Jones, Zayna McCloud, Mallori York, Judah York, and great-grandsons Joey Crowe and Johnny Crowe. She will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews whom she cared for very much. In Tennessee, Wanda's funeral service will be at Bean Station Church of God at 5:00 pm -7:00 pm on Monday, October 23rd with service at 7:00 pm. In West Virginia, the funeral service will be at Victory Christian Center in Lenore on Wednesday, October 25th at 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm with service at 3:00 pm. Roy Cleveland Toler Sr. Roy C. Toler, Sr. age 59 of Delbarton went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 4th, 2011 while in the Williamson Memorial Hospital. Born September 5, 1951 at Welch he was the son of the late Elmer Ray and Mary Margaret (Mounts) Toler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother Ruth Eloise Kinder Toler, sister-in-law Dreama (Ellison) Copley and a brother-in-law Robert Lee Ellison. Roy was a deacon at the Lilly of the Valley Freewill Baptist Church on Riffe Branch. He was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Teresa Ann (Ellison) Toler, two daughters Paula Toler of Delbarton and Brenda (Garland) Strunk of West Salem, Ohio, two sons Roy C. (Martha) Toler, Jr. of Neibert and Michael (Kristi) Toler of Denton, NC, four special children Pam Curry of Chattanooga, TN, Kim (Chuck) Elkins of Dandridge, TN, James (Kathy) Curry and Angie (Michael) Tharp of Morristown, TN, six grandchildren Brittani (Franklin) Church, Christopher Toler, Jennifer (T.J.) Crosby, Shana Strunk, Kayla Strunk, and Alexis Toler, six special grandchildren Joshua Curry, Heather Elkins, Jessica Elkins, Anthony Curry, Matthew Curry, Faith Tharp. Four great-grandchildren Grace, Abbey, Kaylee Whitt, and Kailyn Whitt, one special great-grandchild Kyleigh Curry, stepmother Rosalie (Cooper) Toler, three brothers Ted (Wanda) Toler, Marshall (Traci) Toler, and Terry Kinder. Katherine Irene Toler Katherine Irene O'Bryan, 69, of Chapmanville WV left this world on Sunday, August 21, 2022 in Huntington WV. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wharncliffe WV on January 13, 1953 to the late Elmer and Margaret O'Neal Toler. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Teddy Ray Toler and Roy Toler Sr. and sister Virginia Toler Conley. The month after she graduated from Man High School in 1970, she married the love of her life. She and Larry G. O'Bryan Sr. went on to spend the next 52 years together. She loved red roses and shopping, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Central United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Roy C. Toler Sr., one sister Drema (Ellison) Copley, one brother Robert Ellison, mother-in-laws Margaret (O’Neal) Toler, Ruth (Kinder) Toler and Father-in-law Elmer Ray Toler. Sandra Sue Noe Sandra Sue Toler, 67, of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Sunday, December 27, 2015, from Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, WV. Born on July 15, 1948 at Gilbert, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Irene Thompson Noe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Stevie Joe Browning, Jr; one great-granddaughter, Sabrina Danielle Browning; husband, Teddy Ray Toler; and one sister, Lola “Kinky” Fuller. Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She attended the Wharncliffe Church of God. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to love and cherish her memory are her four children: Vickie (Steve) Browning of Gilbert, Teddy Shane (Jennifer) Toler of Wharncliffe, Marty (Johnny) Dotson of Wharncliffe, Eric (Christy) Toler of Rutledge, TN; eight grandchildren: Wesley (Sarah) Browning, Jessica (Scott) Evans, Amanda (Brandon) Toler, Johnna (Donovan) Mounts, Johnathon Dotson (Bub), Shawn Toler, Erica Toler, and Blake Toler; three great-grandchildren: Dalton Browning, Drake Toler, and Jaylyn Mounts; her other girl, Vivian Ball; one sister, Sherry (Steve) Cline; and Sue also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.
