Surviving are the mother, Bernice S. Showalter, and three sisters: Bonnie Anne, Sherry Darleen and Brenda Gail, all of Roanoke. Interment in Daleville Cemetery, Botetourt County. on March 10, 1952.³ He died on March 10, 1952 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 1.¹

     Bonnie Ann Showalter Bonnie Ann Showalter, 70, of Roanoke, died Friday, October 17, 2014, at Avante' of Roanoke Health and Rehab Center following a long illness. Bonnie was born in Roanoke March 2, 1944, and lived in the area all her life. She was the daughter of the late Ellis and Bernice Stebar Hall. Bonnie enjoyed drawing, vibrant colors, horses, costume jewelry, and music. She especially enjoyed Elvis, Everly Brothers, and Bob Dylan. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Sue Showalter; and brother, Clyde Showalter, Jr. She is survived by a sister, Sherry Sowers, of Moneta; nieces, Theresa Sowers, of Stewartsville, Holly Alls, of Moneta, Summer Sowers, of Roanoke, and Megan Foley, of Goodview. Bonnie's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Avante'. The care and love you gave was always appreciated. Bonnie was a true Christian and spoke of her Jesus in many of the family visits. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Bernice Steber and Ellis "Cossy" Hall; son and daughter-in-law, David Clay and Bunni Gusler; and a son, Daniel Lee Gusler, both of Goodview; grandchildren, Ashley N. Gusler and David C. Gusler, Jr; sisters, Bonnie Showalter of Roanoke and Sherry Sowers of Bedford; nieces, Theresa "Terri" Sowers, Holly Alls, Summer Sowers and Megan Sowers. He was a humble, Christian man who reached many through his love of music. He retired from the Kroger warehouse in Salem, after 28 years of service. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years, Carol Jane Gusler; parents, Charles and Laura Gusler; and brother, Willard Gusler. He is survived by his two sons, David Gusler and his wife, Bunni, and Daniel "Danny" Gusler, all of Goodview; four grandchildren, Ashley, David Jr., Abigail Gusler, and Alex Gusler; two sisters, Virginia Atkins and husband, Denver, Marie Ingram and husband, Roger; and three brothers, Jesse Gusler and wife, Julia, Tommie Gusler and wife, Artie, Linwood Gusler and wife, Linda. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. on March 28, 2012.²

     Herbert Earthel Sowers Jr. Herbert Earthel "Butch" Sowers, Jr., 65, of Glade Hill, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at his residence in Franklin County. He was born on April 27, 1948 in Vinton, a son of the late Herbert Earthel Sowers, Sr., and Mary Davis Craig Sowers. Butch was a member of Vinton Baptist Church and New Life Church. He was a graduate of Ferrum College with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was very active with the Vinton Rec. Department and the Franklin Co. Rec. Department. Butch is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jean Mitchell Sowers; four daughters, Theresa Sowers, Holly Erica Alls, Summer Dee Sowers-Kemp and husband, Herbert Kemp, Jr., Megan Renee Foley and husband, David; seven grandchildren, Shayna Alls, Joshua Alls, Shaun Macklin, Jr; Skyler Kemp, Cadence Kemp; Sean Foley, Samuel Foley; one brother, Craig Douglas and wife, Cindy; one sister, Judith Leigh Sowers Stinnett and husband, Wayne; one half-sister, Deborah Smith; three half-brothers, Richard Sowers, Anthony Sowers and Johnny Sowers.      Shayna Darlene Alls was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1300 Mountain View Road, Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,3 She Shayna Darlene Alls, 21, of Moneta, and her daughter, Kyra Amory Jarrett, 2, left this world all too soon on September 20, 2016 due to a tragic car accident. Their smiles and laughter will be missed by all that had the privilege to know them. Shayna was a 2013 graduate of Staunton River High School and attended William Byrd High School until her sophomore year. She loved all her friends in both schools. She loved her art classes in both schools and all teachers she ever had. She was a great mother who loved her child dearly. She attended Ferrum College in the fall of 2013 for a short period of time only leaving because of her anxiety disorder getting the best of her and later to have her sweet baby girl, Kyra Amory Jarrett, who was her whole world. She had a great love for animals big and small. Shayna was preceded in death by her grandfather, Herbert Earthel Sowers, Jr. of Bedford; and grandfather, Leonard Woody Alls of Roanoke. She is survived by her mother, Holly Alls of Bedford; father, Jonathan Alls of Roanoke; brothers, Joshua Alls and Patrick Macklin of Bedford; sisters, Kaylee Alls of Roanoke and Sierra Sikes of Lynchburg; grandmothers, Sherry “Nana” Sowers of Bedford and Carolyn Alls of Roanoke; aunts, Terri Sowers, Summer Sowers, Megan Foley and husband, Dave Foley all of Bedford, and Courtney Danielle Alls of Stuart; special cousins, Skyler and Cadence Kemp and Sean and Sam Foley.
