We thank you Lord for gracing us with her presence for the time we had her. Her life was hard but she was strong. There are so many accomplishments in her life, mother, wife and Christian guidance. There wasn't much she could not do but she claimed no credit for it and gave all the praise and glory to God for it coming to pass. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Survivors include her husband, John E. Phillips of Waco; daughter, Karen June Phillips Eggers and husband Mike of Waco; son, John Anthony Phillips of Elk City, Okla; grandchildren, Alan E. Scott, Michael Eggers II, Junnie Rose Eggers, Brandon Anthony Phillips and Mitchell Austin Phillips, all of Waco; sister, Gypsie Holdren of Princeton, W.Va; and numerous close relatives and friends. on November 30, 2001.4

Graveside services will be at Rosemound Cemetery. Mr. Phillips was born Aug. 18, 1919 in Laredo. He joined the Navy in 1936; he served his country with pride for 30 years during W.W. II, Korea, Battle of Midway and many others. He was a great man, husband and father. There was not a thing that he could not do. God has taken another angel from our lives. Dad was my best friend. He was everything to me. If I listed it all it would never end. He was my Superman, among everything else. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother and sister. Survivors include his sister, Bertha Rossi, of San Antonio; daughter, Karen Phillips Eggers and husband Mike, of Waco; son, John Anthony Phillips, of Waco; grandchildren, Alan E. Scott, Michael Eggers II, Junnie Rose Eggers, Brandon Phillips and Mitchel Phillips, all of Waco; Robert MacDonald, James Ervin Scott, Debra Huni, Brenda Sowder, Audie Pate Jr., James Morris, and many more family and friends. He will be dearly missed so much. on December 2, 2003.7
