Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. on February 21, 2013.⁴

     Brenda Faye Powell was born on July 22, 1945 at Morganton, Burke Co., North Carolina.^1,2 As of December 6, 1961,her married name was Duncan.¹ She married Allen Thomas Duncan, son of William Melvin "Willie" "Will" Duncan and Nora Mae Henry, on December 6, 1961 at Dillon, Dillon Co., South Carolina.¹ Brenda Faye Powell and Allen Thomas Duncan were divorced on June 15, 1972 at Newport News, Virginia.¹ Brenda Faye Powell died on February 11, 2015 at Hampton, Virginia, at age 69.³ She Hampton - Brenda Matthews, 69, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 11, 2015. Brenda was the daughter of the late Clyde and Veria Powell. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Carl and Ronnie Powell. Brenda is survived by her children, Catherine Easter (Boyd) and Richard Duncan (Millie); grandchildren, Tiffany Nichter (Pete), Kelly Easterling (Mike) and Crystal Dillman (Brian) and Richard Duncan Jr; and four great-grandchildren; her siblings, Bubber Powell (Patty), Bobby Powell Sr., Larry Powell (Kathy), Susie Harrison (T.R.), Mike Powell (Janet), Linda Coy (Rick), and many special aunts, uncles and cousins. Brenda attended Freedom Life Church, loved and served her loyal customers for many years at 7-Elev-en, Quik Pik in Poquoson and Dare Market in Yorktown. on February 17, 2015.³
