     Donald Robert Compton Donald R. Compton, age 85, of Ellett Valley, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at his home. Don was born on August 10, 1936 to the late Claude and Winnie Compton. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Compton; brothers, Carl, Gordon and McArthur; sister, Carol Frances (Fran) Cumbee; brothers-in-law, Clarence Viers, and Alvin Akers. He was an employee of the Radford Army Ammunition plant, where he met his late wife, Georgia, after serving 8 years in the U.S. Army. They both passed in the home they built together. He is survived by his sisters, Nelva Viers Akers, Dot and her husband, Jimmy Howery, Cathy and Kenneth Meador, Pat and Melvin Barnett; stepdaughter, Karen Russell and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Kaitlin Price, Kalley and Evan Ahmann, Kolten Price; sisters-in-law, Joyce Compton, Mary Page Compton; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Cumbee, Arnold Lafon; as well as many wonderful friends and family members. Interment will follow at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Blacksburg.⁴ He was buried at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellett, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^4,5 He was born on August 10, 1936 at Dickenson Co., Virginia.^1,4,5,2 He married Betty Annie Wood, daughter of Luther Leonard Wood and Gladys Ellen Nolley, on June 17, 1959 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ Donald Robert Compton and Betty Annie Wood were divorced on November 2, 1962 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.³ Donald Robert Compton died on October 2, 2021 at Ellett Valley, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 85.^4,5

     Donna Ann Compton was buried at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellett, Montgomery Co., Virginia.³ Her married name was Phillips.³ She married David Phillips.³ Donna Ann Compton was born on May 15, 1959 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,4,5 As of May 11, 1974,her married name was Caldwell.² She married William Preston Caldwell on May 11, 1974 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² Donna Ann Compton and William Preston Caldwell were divorced on September 5, 1990 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ Donna Ann Compton died on April 11, 2006 at South Carolina at age 46.³ She Donna Ann Caldwell Phillips, age 46, of Elgin, SC, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Survivors include her mother, Betty Compton, Fairiawn; father and step-mother, Don and Georgia Compton, Ellett Valley; sons and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lisa Caldwell of Blacksburg; Christopher Caldwell, SC; ex-husbands and special friends, David Phillips, SC; Petey Caldwell, Blacksburg; grandchildren, Skyler Caldwell, Austin Smith, Dakota Decosta and Aston Decosta; sister, Wanda Pettus, Blacksburg; many aunts and uncles; niece and her spouse, Kim and Robert Price; two great nieces, Chelsea Price and Carley Price; one great-nephew, Robert Dwayne Price and a very special friend, Mary Johnson. Interment will follow in the North Fork Cemetery, Montgomery County. on April 18, 2006.³
