He was born June 23, 1918, in West Virginia, a son of Dennis and Mamie Strickland Pickering. He married Eloise Paxton, Aug. 3, 1946, in Bancroft, W.Va. She survives. Surviving are three daughters, Betty Musolff and Nancy Burns, Streator, and Joyce Alderson, Marseilles; one son, Charles, Streator; three sisters; and 10 grandchildren. One son and two brothers preceded him in death. He lived in the Streator area since 1969 and was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Company. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. on June 12, 1987.⁶

She was born on Oct. 25, 1942 in Blue Rapids. She married David W. Paxton on Jan. 9, 1958 in Blue Rapids. During her life, she was a homemaker and worked at various nursing homes in the area. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Marysville. She is survived by her husband; four sons, David Paxton Jr, of Silverton, Co., Darrel Paxton of Seneca, Bill Paxton of Cheyenne, Wy. and Mike Paxton of Barnes; three daughters Della Paxton of Blue Rapids, Connie Paxton of Portland, Ore., and Phyllis Hadorn of Beatrice, Neb; one brother, three sisters 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be buried at the Prospect Hill Cemetery north of Blue Rapids. on July 20, 2000.³

Mrs. Thorn, 45, of 230 Beach Road, had lived in the Lakeland and Syracuse area for 19 years. She worked at Raphael's Restaurant on State Fair Boulevard, where she had worked in the kitchen for about 10 years. Mrs. Thorn was struck by a van as she was walking home from work Thursday. She was a past officer of the Lakeland PTA and also held office in the Lakeland-Lakeside Little League. Surviving are a husband, Paul; three sons, Paul Jr. of Liverpool and David and Jonathan of Lakeland; a daughter, Cassandra Ternosky of Solvay; her parents, Raymond and Erma Paxton of Ransom, Ill; a sister, Debbie Keesee of Ransom; a brother, Ray Paxton Jr. of Clinton, Ill; her paternal grandmother, Macel Hull of Charleston, W.V; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. The burial was private. Contributions may be made to the Solvay High School SADD chapter. on October 27, 1996.⁵

Thorn Sr. was born circa 1950 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.² He died on July 5, 2018 at Fayetteville, Cumberland Co., North Carolina.² He Paul E Thorn Sr., 68 of Hope Mills, passed away July 5, 2018, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of Boyd and Jane Thorn, Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gladys Elaine Paxton Thorn and brother, Edward Ashley Thorn, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Thorn; Children, Paul Thorn, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Pennellville, NY, Cassandra Ternosky and husband Johnny of Elbridge, NY, David Thorn and wife Christen of Solvay, NY, Jonathan Thorn of Baldwinsville, NY, Alyssa Stinger of Hope Mills, NC, and 9 grandchildren. Mr. Thorn possessed a Master's Degree from Cornell University in Labor Relations. He worked and retired after 33 years from Owens Illinois Glass Manufacturing in Volney, NY, and was a prominent union official. He worked at various golf courses, including Gates Four in Fayetteville, NC. Being in various golf leagues, he also enjoyed reading, working outside, and listening to big bands and Jazz music. He was a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. His love of sports included him being an active little league board member and umpire, PTA, coaching girls H.S. softball and umpiring, he was active with Boy Scouts, Musicals, and Choirs. on July 11, 2018.²

Surviving are his parents of Clinton; paternal grandfather, Forrest Ray Paxton Sr. of Ransom; a great-grandmother, Macel Hull of Charleston, W.Va; sisters, Melissa and Jessica Paxton, both of Clinton; and three nieces. He was a 2003 graduate of Clinton High School in the Alternative Ed Program. He was a former employee of Texas Road House in Decatur. on August 25, 2003.²

     Dan Danko was born on October 29, 1956 at Streator, LaSalle Co., Illinois.³ He married Nancy Pickering, daughter of Earl Nelson Pickering and Verbie Eloise Paxton, on May 11, 2002 at Ottawa, LaSalle Co., Illinois.^1,2,3 Dan Danko died on November 3, 2013 at Minonk, Woodford Co., Illinois, at age 57.³ He Daniel C. Danko, 57, of Streator, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, at Heritage Health Therapy and Rehabilitation in Minonk. Born Oct. 29, 1956, in Streator, he was the son of Clarence and Josephine (Pavlick) Danko. He married Nancy Pickering on May 11, 2002, in Ottawa. She survives in Streator. He also is survived by his mother, Josephine (James) Sward, of Seneca, S.C; a son, Tad Danko, of Streator; stepchildren, Amy Hogan and Chad Burns, both of Streator; a grandson, Garrett Hogan; and brothers, Michael (Tanya) Danko, of Spring Hill, Fla., and Dean Danko, of Streator. He was preceded in death by his father. Born and raised in Streator, he attended St. Stephen's Grade School and Woodland High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and later in the Army Reserves. He owned and operated Bootlegger's Tavern in Streator for several years. He also worked for Burns security at both the La Salle and Braidwood nuclear stations. He was a member of the American Legion. on November 12, 2013.³

She was born June 22, 1949 in Bancroft, West Virginia, the daughter of Earl and Eloise (Paxton) Pickering. She married Leo "Sonny" Musolff on December 23, 1982. He survives. Also surviving are sons: William Weiss and Bob (Kelly) Gray, both of Streator; step-sons: Michael "Mickey" Musolff of Orlando, FL and Richard Zameda of Chicago; two grandchildren; her mother of Streator; a brother: Charles (Mary) Pickering of Streator; sisters: Nancy (Dan) Danko and Joyce Davis, both of Streator; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. She was a graduate of Poca High School in West Virginia. She was employed at the former Imperial Home Decor Group in Streator. Pallbearers will be: stepson: Michael Musolff; nephews: Chad Burns, Mike Pickering and Shane Lanning; brother-in-law: Edward Musolff; and Ron Geary. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren: Anthony and Kaitlyn "Katie" J.
