Survivors include his wife, Violette Taylor Oney of Princeton; one son, Anthony Ray (Tony) Oney of Princeton; three daughters, Violette Ann Hearne of Florence, S. C., Nancy Lee Feinstein of Northboro, Mass., Susan Kay Tull of Seaford, Del; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Binford of Princeton and Mrs. Sue Simms of Grand Rapids, Mich; and eight grandchildren. Burial will follow in the Oney Family Cemetery on the New Ingleside Road in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Sanford White, Randolph White, B. G. White Jr., Charles Mandville, Robert Blankenship, M. W. Brown, James D. Ayres and Sam Goad. Flowerbearers will be members of the Rachel Fulton Circle. on July 15, 1976.4

     Violette Virginia Taylor Violette Virginia Oney, 95, of Princeton died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born July 17, 1920 in Mountain View, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Zachariah Taylor and Virginia Harmon Taylor. Violette was retired from the Mercer County School system in the food service department. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ambrose Oney; and three sisters, Inez Martin, Mary Alice Crawford, and Bertha Hendrick. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include three daughters, Violette Ann Hearne and husband Raymon of Evergreen, SC, Nancy Lee Oney and longtime companion Robert Hubbard of Northborough, MA and Susan Kay Tull and husband David of Seaford, DE; one son, Tony Oney and wife Linda of Camp Creek, WV; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at the Oney Family Cemetery, Twelve Mile Road in Princeton with Rev. Violette Ann Oney Hearne, 79, of the Evergreen Community, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Commander Nursing Center. Ann was born in Princeton, WVA, a daughter of the late Ray Ambrose and Violette Taylor Oney. She served her country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was a Girl Scout Leader. Ann loved her Lord and ministering to people through Home Bible Studies, being a Sunday School Teacher and sending greeting cards. She retired as the Church Secretary from Evergreen Baptist Church and was attending Lebanon Church. Surviving are her loving husband of 55 years, Raymon Heywood Hearne; four children, Elizabeth (Sandy) Morris, Cynthia (Ray) Velasquez, Michael (Ellen) Hearne, and Stephen (Laurie) Hearne; three siblings, Nancy Oney, Susie (David) Tull, and Tony (Linda) Oney; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
