She was preceded in death by her husband, Pearl Martin Tingler; her parents, James G. Scott and Euba H. Scott; her brothers, Ralph, Berman, and Claude Scott. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Carolyn Tingler, Vinton; her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Charles Ellis, Hardy; her grandchildren and their families include Scott Tingler, Valerie and Matthew; Donna Morris, Bill and Andrew, all of Vinton; Rene Hall, Tim, Alex, Alivia, and Abagail, all of Princeton, N.J; and Rene's father, Skip Dean, Vinton; Justin Ellis and his daughter, Heather, Hardy. She was a devoted member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she served the Lord with her musical talents as pianist and organist. She composed a song, ''He Set Me Free,"" as her testimony in Christ. She continued playing and singing her song while a resident at The Berkshire. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. on December 25, 1997.¹

She was born October 4, 1934, in Hickory, N.C., daughter of the late James C. and Sue Honeycutt Hart. Her parents-in-law, Estelle and Pearl Tingler, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Tingler attended Averett College in Danville. She was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church since 1969 where she was active in the choir and hostess committee, as well as being a leader in the AWANA club. Her survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Donald M. "Don" Tingler; son and daughterin-law, Scott and Valerie Tingler; daughter and son-inlaw, Donna Tingler Morris and Billy Morris, all of Vinton; grandchildren, Matthew Noviski, Andrew Morris, Michael Tingler and Steven Tingler; brother, James C. Hart Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Florence, S.C; and their children, James, Linda, Becky and Jenny; sister-in-law, Nancy Tingler, of Roanoke; and niece, Renee Hall and her husband, Tim, of London. A special thanks to Eunice Orange and Judy Gutierrez for their loving care over the past years. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. on October 4, 2008.²

     Sherrell Robinson Dean Jr. Sherrell R. “Skip” Dean age 75 passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born December 27, 1941 to the late Josephine and Sherrell Dean, Sr. Skip is survived by his wife, Bonnie Peck Dean and her children and grandchildren Stephanie Gale (Rich), Katherine, Matthew, Jennifer of Pennsylvania and Bryan Peck (Samantha), Christopher, Andrew of Florida. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Renee Dean Hall (Tim) of London and three loving grandchildren, Alex, Alivia and Abagail. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Dean Falls (Bill) and Barbara Dean DeHart (Jerry) all of Roanoke VA. Skip graduated from William Fleming High School in 1960. He worked a brief time for the VA Department of Transportation before joining the U.S. Air Force serving in Texas, Massachusetts, Germany and California. After his discharge in 1965, he joined the management training team for Woolworth's living in Chattanooga and Nashville TN. He returned to Roanoke to begin his career with Macke Vending and later with Lynchburg Vending and MONY.⁴ He was born on December 27, 1941 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,3,4 He married Nancy Lynn Tingler, daughter of Pearl Martin Tingler and Estelle Evelyn Scott, on July 28, 1962 at Roanoke, Virginia.¹ Sherrell Robinson Dean Jr. and Nancy Lynn Tingler were divorced on September 27, 1983 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.² Sherrell Robinson Dean Jr. died on November 24, 2017 at Fort Myers, Lee Co., Florida, at age 75.⁴
