She graduated with a BS in Nursing from Seattle Pacific University. She cared for many people in her career at Bethany Hospital, Deaconess, & Kindred, though her greatest passion was loving God and her family. She adored her husband, loved books, her grandkids, church, and all things bright and beautiful. She had a wonderful wit and loved to laugh. Carolyn passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017 and is survived by her husband, James; son, Seth and Elizabeth and their children Megan and Cameron, daughter, Sarah and Stephen Riley and their children Jonathan, Benjamin, Micah, and Gabriel, and a host of extended family and friends. Interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. on January 31, 2017.1

Survivors include his wife; a son, Clifford Ray of Houston; two daughters, Susan Archer Bryant of Orlando, Fla., and Twila Archer of Houston; his mother, Gladys Rich of Sioux City; stepfather, Floyd Rich of Sioux City, and two sisters, Dorothy Vanden Hul of Houston and Doris Bahr of Dakota City. on October 8, 1987.4
