Pennington, age 66 of 304 Cherry Street, Bluefield, WV passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Bluefield Regional Hospital following a long illness. Born July 21, 1947 in Bluefield, W.V, He was the son of the late Melba B. Pennington and James H. Pennington. He was also preceeded in death by an infant brother James. David graduated from Bluefield High School in 1965 and went on to attend McLains Business College. He was a veteran of the US Anny and was discharged in 1969 after serving 3 years in Vietnam. Following his service to our country David worked for McQuails Furniture Co. of Bluefield, WV. After this he went to work in the mines for United Poca Coal Company. David worked in the mines a total of 14 years at various sites before retiring in 1988. Left to cherish his memory are: His wife of 23 years, Beverly Robertson Pennington, and son Brandon Pennington of the home. Sons: David Pennington and wife Karen of Rocky Gap Va, Keith Pennington of Frederick St. Bluefield, WV, Christopher Pennington and companion Heather of Bluefield Va, two step-sons Brian Kovak of Lynchburg Va. and Kevin Martin of the home. David had 11 grandchildren which he loved very much. Adam, Noah, Kayla, Autumn, Ryan, Natalie, Ashton, Gage, Zac, Bailey and Anna. He also cherished a special niece Leann. In addition to these he is survived by his 6 brothers: Ronald Pennington of Bramwell, W.V, Randolph Pennington of Brushfork, Rev. Gary Pennington and wife Jo Ann of Littlesburg Road, Kenneth Pennington and wife Martha of Bluefield, Va, Michael Pennington and wife Cynthia of Brushfork, and David Lee Pennington also of Brushfork. David is also survived by several nieces and nephews, a very large extended family and many good friends. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.³ He was born on July 21, 1947 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^1,2,4,3 He married Brenda Gail Harless, daughter of Paul Jennings Harless and Pansy Ruth McGhee, on August 5, 1966 at Bluefield, Tazewell Co., Virginia.¹ David Drexel Pennington and Brenda Gail Harless were divorced on August 15, 1972.¹ David Drexel Pennington died on February 5, 2014 at Bluewell, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 66.^2,4,3

     Nancy Phyllis Hearld Nancy Phyllis McGhee, 74 of Intercession City, Florida passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Born April 10, 1937 in Blue Field, West Virginia the daughter of the late John Henry and Pearl Elizabeth (McGlothlin) Hearld. Nancy was of the Baptist faith. She was a head housekeeper in the Central Florida area for many years. She is survived by her sons, Carl White and Charles White; daughters, Connie Thomas, Linda Lane, Virginia Kent and Bobbie Buckholtz; brother, Maxie Hearld; sisters, Norma Edverage and Carol Bennett; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.² Her Social Security Number was 233-52-6213.³ She was born on April 10, 1937 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^1,3,2 As of September 6, 1975,her married name was McGhee.¹ She married James Raymond McGhee, son of Lena Katherine McGhee, on September 6, 1975 at Rich Creek, Giles Co., Virginia.¹ Nancy Phyllis Hearld died on December 14, 2011 at Florida at age 74.^3,2

"Jack" DeHart and Vera Earlene Sumpter, on November 27, 1954 at Floyd Co., Virginia.¹ Mahlon Cless Harrell died on February 21, 2015 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 82.^2,3 He MEADOWS OF DAN, Va. - Mahlon C. Harrell, 82, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Carroll County on October 25, 1932 to the late Dorsie W. Harrell and Clara Stanley Harrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Cassell; a brother, Gorman Harrell; a sister-in-law, Ruby Harrell; and a brother-in-law, Jack Agee. Mahlon was a charter member of the Meadows of Dan Fire Department and a member of the Meadows of Dan Ruritan Club. He was also active on the Electoral Board, Social Services Board, Equalization Board, and ASCS. He was a dairy farmer and an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Carol Ann Harrell of the home; daughter, Carolyn Harrell and special friend Terry Lyalls; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Patsy Harrell, Flynn Harrell, and Michael Harrell and special friend Jana Cassell, all of Meadows of Dan; seven grandchildren, Dennis Harrell and wife Shannon, Rachel VanSutphin and husband Steve, Sissily Harrell, Nathan Harrell, Chad Pilson, Elliot Pilson, and Austin Harrell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Velda and Coan Agee of Keysville, Evelie Agee of Meadows of Dan, and Reva and Charlie Lucas of Woodlawn; brothers and sister-in-law, William "Bill" and Geri Harrell of Martinsville, Armond Harrell of Ridgeway; sister-in-law, Janet Harrell of Meadows of Dan; brother-in-law, Donnie Cassell of Meadows of Dan; and special caregiver, Anita Coleman. Funeral service was held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with Pastor Lowell Willis officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. on February 26, 2015.²
