     Joyce Anne Campbell Joyce Campbell Tucker, 81, of Martinsville passed away on Sunday October 9, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, N.C. She was born July 19, 1935 in Covington, Va. to the late Leonard and Frances Crowder Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Byrd Tucker, Sr; one son, Byrd "Junior" Tucker, Jr; one grandson, Thomas Wayne Tucker, II; two brothers, Billy and Benny Campbell, and one sister, Doris Paxton. Mrs. Tucker was of the Christian faith, and had worked as a waitress for over 50 years, 10 years at the former Hut Restaurant, and 40 years at the Dutch Inn. She is survived by three sons, Tommy Tucker of Martinsville, Aaron Tucker of Fieldale, and Mark Tucker of Martinsville; two sisters, Jenny Cox and Ruby Harris of Richmond; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.⁵ She was buried at Roselawn Burial Park, 103 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, Virginia.^5,7 She was born on July 19, 1935 at Covington, Alleghany Co., Virginia.⁵ As of October 24, 1951,her married name was Tucker.² She married Byrd Bowles Tucker Sr. on October 24, 1951 at Covington, Alleghany Co., Virginia.^2,5,7 Joyce Anne Campbell died on October 9, 2016 at Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina, at age 81.⁵

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Linwood A. Paxton; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Tommy Wilburn; grandson, Ronnie Kieper, all of Chesterfield; sisters, Joyce Tucker of Martinsville, Jenny Cox of Richmond, Ruby Harris of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her mother Frances C. Davis; her father, Leonard H. Campbell; brothers, Benny Campbell and Billy Campbell, preceded her in death. Dorris was a native of Covington, Virginia and she was a retired supervisor for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company in Richmond, Virginia. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. on August 7, 2005.⁴

Since retiring from DuPont he has been a bus driver for the Amelia County School District. He is survived by his wife, Vernelle; daughters, Tina Alexander and Ann Wallace, both of Texas; son, James "Jim" Campbell of Richmond; stepsons, David Nunnally of Dunnsville, Va. and Mark Nunnally of Tenn; sisters, Joyce Tucker of Martinsville, Jenny Cox and Ruby Harris of Richmond, and Doris Paxton of Chesterfield; 12 grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends before proceeding to the Virginia Veterans Cemetery for interment. on February 2, 2005.⁴

He worked for Reynolds Container for 10 years before becoming disabled. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his daughter, Summer Yarbrough of Madison, N.C; three brothers, Thomas Wayne Tucker of Martinsville, Aaron Lynn Tucker of Fieldale and Mark Steven Tucker of Martinsville; and one grandson. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Burial Park with Buck Wardel officiating. on February 14, 2013.⁵
