She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Edward McDonald; son, Zachary Linkous; and grandparents, Howard and Margaret McDonald and the Rev. Perry and Maggie Richardson. She was a graduate of Christiansburg High School and attended New River Valley College. She is survived by her mother, Linda Richardson Koalkin and husband, Gene; daughter, Yardley Paige Bales; stepchildren, Randy Bales Jr. and Sonya Bales; brother, James L. Crosier and wife, Tracie; half sister, Misty McDonald; nephew, Brandon Crosier; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; and fiance, Scott Jenkins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 1995, 11 a.m., at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Radford, with the Rev. Cecil Albano officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. Members of VFW Post #776 in Radford will conduct military graveside rites. on January 15, 1995.2

He was preceded in Death by his father, Eli (Moody) Bales of Eggleston, mother, Betty DeBoard Bales of Eggleston, sister, Patsy Bales Stump of Pearisburg, brother, Douglas Muncy of Pearisburg, and stepson, Zachary Linkous of Dublin. Left to cherish his memory are a son, Randall Bales Jr and wife Debbie, his daughters Sonya Schnicke and Yardley Bales. His grandsons Jacob Bales, Jordan Anderson and fiance Carmen Dunagan, DJ Schnicke, Justice Easter and great grandson Harlan Anderson. Step grandchildren Josh Cox and wife Katelin, Traci Dillon and husband Dustin, and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Randy was a unique individual when it came to relationships he had. As many people called him dad or grandad and those that called him Randy or RB. Children loved him and he loved them. As I began to include those surviving him I thought of this person or that person that had a brother, son, daughter or grandchild that bonded with him and it would not be fair to list some because he honestly was family too so many. Also surviving him include brothers Tommy Bales and wife Lois, Jeffrey Bales and wife Chasity, nieces Angel Bales Osborne and husband Quentin, Sherry Hall and husband Todd, JR Stump and wife Amanda, and Kalob Bales. And many special extended family members. Interment will follow at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg Virginia. Born in Roanoke, his family moved to the Tidewater area in the 1940's. Mr. Hamblin worked for the Newport News City Fire Department for 27 years, retiring in 1984. Mr. Hamblin is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Louise Hamblin; his daughter, Emma Jean Ivey; his mother, Emma Hamblin; his father, Earl Hamblin; and his brother, Ernest Hamblin. Survivors include a brother, Wayne Hamblin; two daughters, Bonnie Idle and Doris Schasckeck; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Seaford by the Rev. John Haynes. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full Fire Department Honors. The family thanks the wonderful friends from Zion United Methodist Church and his friends and neighbors in Seaford. Born Feb. 10, 1915, in Morganton, N.C., she was a longtime resident of the Seaford community. She was an active member of Zion Methodist Church and the Woman's Club of Seaford. Additionally, she was an avid golfer and won many trophies over the years and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the American Red Cross. Mrs. Hamblin was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mattie Lingafelt; her brothers, William Ned, Coy, Bill, Robert, Eugene and Charles Lingafelt; her sisters, Mae Little, Ruby Coniglio, Lucille Zarr and Betty Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Marvin Eugene Hamblin; her daughter, Doris Schascheck; her sister, Mary Sue Barber and her husband, Ed; her brother, Ben M. Lingafelt, and his wife, Grace; six granddaughters, 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to her caregivers, Beverly Crocket, Carrie Selby and Riverside Hospice. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Zion United Methodist Church, 2109 Seaford Road, Seaford, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. on February 20, 2008.1

He was a 32nd Degree Mason and also a member of Warwick Masonic Lodge No. 336, Khedive Shrine Temple, Peninsula Shrine Club, Royal Arch Chapter No. 80, Scottish Rite Bodies, Warwick Merchants Association and a former member of the Peninsula Kiwanis Club. Survived by his wife, Mary A. Hamblin; two sons, Ernest L. Hamblin Jr. and Wayne L. Hamblin, both of Newport News; his mother, Emma S. Hamblin of Newport News; two brothers, Marvin E. Hamblin of Seaford and Luain W. Hamblin of Lancaster, Pa; and one grandchild. Burial in Peninsula Memorial Park with Masonic rites. on April 5, 1992.9
